2018 DOWN UNDER INVITATIONAL – MARCH 24, 2018
After a 4 year hiatus, the Down Under Invitational is back and just as simple as ever. This will be a 2-round tournament of 18 holes Down Under. We are limiting the field to 90 players.
This event is designed to be a little more relaxed than most tournaments. While we do ask that people play by the rules of the PDGA, we ask that people are more informative to their fellow players, rather than punitive. As you may have noticed, there are only 5 divisions available to play. That’s because over the year’s we realized one thing about Down Under. It’s Down Under! Even Jack Lowe beat some of the best players in Kansas City, once…The course is short, and more technical, so the lines are very blurred when it comes to creating divisions. With that in mind, here is a quick summary of divisions available:
CASH PAYOUT DIVISIONS
OPEN $40 – Anyone can play in this division. You just pay the money! You’re in!
OLD PROS (50+) $30 – You must be turning the ripe old age of 50 years old this year or any year before 2018. We do not offer a 40+ Masters division. Them’s the rules.
WOMEN $30 – Ladies! This isn’t a pro or am division. It’s a Women’s Only division. The payouts will be deeper to encourage more players.
*NOTE* If you are a woman and are interested in playing but feel there should be an amateur division just for you, I encourage you to sign up for RECREATIONAL for now. If I get 4+ women that sign up, I will open up a separate division at the $20 price point. This will be a voucher paid division.
VOUCHER PAYOUT DIVISIONS
AMATEUR $30 – This division is designed for both the Advanced Players and Intermediate Players. If you play those divisions regularly, this would be where I would suggest you play. Payout options will be announced soon.
RECREATIONAL $20 – This division is designed for the casual players or new tournament players who are just figuring things out. If you play and win recreational divisions regularly, I suggest you play AMATEUR.
Hopefully that clears things up. If you have any additional questions, please contact Dick Parker (email@example.com)
There will be an optional $5 ace fund that we will collect the day of. If no Ace is hit during either round, we will have a quick 1 throw per person playoff with anyone who paid in! If multiple Aces are hit, we will split the Ace Fund at the end of the 2 rounds of golf. BRING CASH IF YOU WANT IN THE ACE FUND! $5
