Barter Town / Commander for Ranger
« on: August 12, 2018, 06:28:02 PM »
I’ve got a pretty lightly used grey DD commander bag.  I recently picked up a DD backpack cart and it’s a super tight fit.  I hear the ranger fits better and am looking to trade.  Is anyone interested?  It doesn’t have to be brand new (prefer lightly used) and I’m not super picky on color but PM me if interested.  FYI I do have the rain fly for the commander as well.

Has anyone played the new course in Bonner Springs that eMac put in?  Is it done?

Barter Town / Wanted: 2011 KCWO Star DS
« on: May 09, 2017, 10:24:24 AM »
Anybody have one of these laying around?  I had a white one that I loved and lost last year and haven't been able to find anything that feels/flies the same.  Let me know.

Barter Town / Upper Park - Shift Bag
« on: July 01, 2016, 10:08:47 AM »
I have a brand new shift bag from Upper Park for sale.  I bought it thinking it would be good to dial back my disc usage and quit carrying so much crap in my bag when I'm playing.  Well, turns out the idea didn't sit so well with me after a few rounds of golf with it.  It's been used for 3 rounds tops and is still in perfect condition - rainfly included.  I paid $140 for it including tax and shipping, but would be willing to let it go for $125.  The re-stocking and shipping fees didn't make it worth it for me to return it.

If anyone has one of the new DD Commander bags and would be willing to trade straight up I would be more than willing to do that as well so long as it is fairly new.  Below is the link to the bag if you'd like to see it; I have the lime green and black version.

PM me with any questions!

Tournaments / KCWO & Team Challenge
« on: June 06, 2016, 03:44:29 PM »
I know scheduling is tough, but if there is any way we can find weekends other than Mother's Day and Father's Day for major events in KC next year that'd be great...

General Banter / PDGA Ratings Update
« on: March 25, 2015, 10:04:34 AM »
Just wanted to send a note and say that I think the ratings system is a load of crap.  No comments needed unless you see fit, but the discrepancy between unofficial results and official results is beyond me.

General Banter / Destroyer Discussion
« on: March 17, 2015, 10:51:14 AM »
I know I'll get lots of feedback on this.  As some of you may know, I used to be one of the select few in town that was a boss thrower.  I finally broke down and started throwing destroyers because everyone claimed they were the best controllable distance driver you could find.  Prior to that, I only ever owned one SDS in my life and I sold it to Jake Bowen for cheap because at the time I didn't think I would ever throw it...he subsequently lost it or threw it in a pond or something, but that's beside the fact.  Anyway, I did start throwing them for a bit and not too long after that got picked up by a sponsor.  Well, I'm no longer sponsored and back to throwing destroyers...I've heard all kinds of stories on what to get and what not to get.  Bottom stamped destroyers are beefy, vulcan top destroyers suck, AJ destroyers are just as good as SDS, etc etc etc.

Right now I have one regular old star destroyer in the bag from the 29th or 30th KCWO I believe.  It's gummy, I love it, but it doesn't handle a headwind.  It will soon be my straight to flippy destroyer if I had to guess.  So, now I need a straight one, a stable one, and a beefcake.  Suggestions?  I think my first option will be to pick up an AJ Destroyer, but I don't know what people have experience with color selection if anything?  White is typically stable right?

Barter Town / First Run Mace/First Run Fugitive

Does anybody have these?  I'm looking for them in the base plastic if possible in near new or new condition.  I would be looking for trades here.

General Banter / Deer Hunting Ground
« on: October 07, 2014, 10:52:12 AM »
Completely not disc golf related I know.  But does anyone have any ground that they would be willing to allow me and my in-laws to hunt this upcoming deer season?  There are four of us that are looking for a place to hunt and we're coming up on a month to rifle season.  PM me if you have anything for us.  Thanks a ton!

Liberty, MO - Stocksdale Park / Liberty - BRC League Night 9/29
« on: September 24, 2014, 08:35:01 AM »
Hey everyone,

A coop use agreement has been made between Liberty Parks and Rec and the club.  We have been given permission to begin leagues and they will likely be on Monday nights moving forward.  We are running short on daylight and I advised Liberty Parks & Rec that we probably wouldn't get any more than one or two league nights in this year before we are playing in total darkness.  They said that we could maybe do a glow league here or there, but that the park does close at sunset.  That being said, I'm trying to gauge interest for a league on 9/29 and possibly 10/6 if we think we can squeeze it.  We would need to tee by 5:30 at the latest and would certainly be playing all the shorter pins.  I would send out cards as soon as you have a 3 some, but admittedly I won't be able to get there until 5:15 at best.  Is it worth starting up this year?  Can I get a few verbal commitments?  Shall we just wait until spring and let the grass really take hold that was seeded during the course implementation?  Thoughts?

General Banter / Independence Disc Golf Day - 10/25
« on: September 16, 2014, 02:08:22 PM »
Attention Kansas City Disc Golfers!

Independence Parks and Recreation is going to be hosting a disc golf day on the 25th of October.  It will take place at William Yates Elementary School at the Sprint Disc Golf Course in Independence.  This is an effort made in part to show support for another disc golf course in Independence and also in part just to have fun on a fall afternoon!  The event will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM and will consist of more than just disc golf.  The school has several playground areas for young children to play and there may be a surprise appearance by the Independence Fire Department as well (yet to be confirmed).  The city plans to have other activities for families; rest assured it will be a good time!

We have encouraged the Park Board Commission members to come out and witness for themselves the kind of support for disc golf that we have in the Kansas City Metro.  John Theiss and I will work together to see if we want to put together some sort of mini tournament/ace race/casual round(s) for the day.  Details on that yet to come.  Basically what we are looking for is for as many people as possible to come out and show your love for the sport.  I know it's not the longest course in town and it may not challenge your disc golf ability as much.  However, we will have the course in tip top shape and hope that you can come out for an hour or two to enjoy the day!

If you have any questions, please PM me.  I'm not entirely sure who to contact, but if someone from the board reads this, please have the date and details posted on the club's website as we have included it on the flyer for viewing.  The flyer will soon be posted at some of the area courses.  Thank you so much!  Hope to see you all there!

General Banter / Worlds

Did anyone notice that Brody Miller is tearing it up at worlds?!  An ultimate professional to say the least, he can obviously chuck a disc as well.  Only four back of the lead!
