Post by: dickthediscparker on October 02, 2012, 10:22:53 AM

Logos from different popular discs (if it does not break copy right laws)

Pics of local or touring pros or hall of famers (with their permission)

I think the tags being the shape of the actual number would be cool. But probably not ideal.

Different local BBQ establishment pics.  Probably not ideal, but pretty cool to show off a part of KC.  8)

Not a bad idea if we were to get them to sponsor the program.

Just go to Whispers in Leavenworth, KS I heard they will do ANYTHING to make a dollar....

Anyways, I think either BBQ places is a great idea or even do like popular spots around KCMO, even include the area surrounding Swope HAH I think if you get the Zoo to throw in a couple dollars, maybe Worlds of Fun, West Bottoms, Power and Light, Sprint Center....that kind of stuff. It's a win win for both parties.

Great. Now we're all walking advertisements.. I'll pass.

The tag you end with this year gets your picture on it for next years.. You'd be holding the tag in the picture so it would be almost-kinda-like inception golf.

Or people could submit custom art for say, a range of tags. maybe 10 tags you 'adopt'

just tryin to get some idears flowin

I can't even draw a stick person correctly or I would submit some art...do we know anyone good with drawing or computer graphics?

I am sure with the 1500 members we have there is someone lurking in the dark...

I did like the bag tag shaped like the number idea though...

Don't worry, I will not be selling our tags to the highest bidder. Unless you are offering cold hard cash... call me.

I actually liked the BBQ idea, advertising sure but it's one of the cool things KC is known for.

Or just KISS

What about using the 30th Kansas City Wide Open logo?  Maybe replace the 2012 PDGA National Tour with all the KCFDC courses, and then replace the XXX with the bag tag # in a slightly larger font.

Tom's had the only decent suggestion so far. How about forming the numbers using the strippers themselves, and just take a picture for the tag? Ya know, it's like they'd be doing the YMCA dance, only they form numbers instead of letters.

Thank you for all the great ideas. I don't think I will be doing strippers this year... ... ... uhmmm.. What?

Anyway, I believe the design is set and I will be ordering them today. Once I have them in stock I will post pictures. This will be a different tag than we have had in the past and I hope people like them.

I don't blame ya, You don't want to carry around bag tag 274 all year, we get it!

Save that 5 bucks for gas, for when we need to borrow your Generator again...

Good idea, because unlike a titless bag tag, that $5 will actually be useful.

Just wanted to bump this to get some ideas going for next years tags. I liked the BBQ idea. Tits would be nice also. And my personal would be popular old school discs. Or most popular discs from all brands(I bet there are at least 10 companies that make them). Will Dick be handling this task again?

I think it would be cool to have different historic areas or landmarks of KC from in or around our parks.  I.E. the Water Tower at Waterworks, or the Scenic River Overlook near Cliff Drive, Historic Northeast district homes, Oklahoma Joe's near Rosie, or the Rosedale arch, the Club House at Swope Park, even Union Station or Liberty Memorial although they are not really associated with the parks ...  there are plenty of historic and or scenic areas in or near our parks that could showcase the diversity of KC and our many parks.

I got my groomsmen personalized bottle openers that were in the shape of a credit card.  This is the perfect size for a bag tag, but I am sad to report that they were at a minimum $10 a piece.  I don't think the club typically spends that much on each tag, but I may be wrong.

We typically spend about $5 on each tag. It is not a money making thing for the club. The leather tags came in over $5 this year.

Just did a quick search.  Found key chain bottle opener s that we could provide art for.  Some around $1 each.  We would have to figure out a way to number them individually.

I have a few people I can call about getting bottle openers as tags. No need to buy some and then send them out again for branding.

I have one of those cards and they are solid!

Something like this in quantities of 300 or more comes out to $2.25 each. KCFDC logo on one side and number on the other. You can also add a background image.

The ink looks kinda crappy. I hope we can do a bit better than that. The ones that I looked at were much more professional looking . . . I do like the one from Memphis.

etched bottle openers instead may be an option.  The very first KCFDC bag tags were etched, but they weren't exactly the strongest material, and made an AWFUL lot of noise, but it got the ball rolling about 10 years ago or so.  Good to see where we have gone with it over the years!
