Parade section in the K.C. Star
« on: July 26, 2010, 12:50:13 PM »
First of all. I wanna point out Tammy brought this to my attention before I read all the guffaws.

15 ways to enjoy summer as reported in the Parade section.
Under trying a new sport it suggests disc golf.
It describes what the sport is and what you need. Although it says a Frisbee instead of golf disc.
It also said "Find a course near you, or learn how to create your own at pdga.com"
It also has a injury risk level of 2.
The try a new sport suggestion was listed in the ninth slot.

I couldn't find a link for this thats why I just told the basics.

They are saying to check out 3 up and coming sports.
Disc golf was at the top.
Geocaching (searching for gems) risk level of 1
Sphere Riding (Roll down a hill while riding inside a giant transparent plastic ball). Risk level of 3

Knowing my luck, the ball would not be transparent when I got to the bottom.
It would either have crap because I got it scared out of me or blood or both!!
They have this in Pigeon Forge Tenn. I kept on driving!!
BTW Pigeon Forge is a go-cart riders delight. Tracks all over the place.

Geocaching is fun, but I think the risk level can be much higher than a 1...I have been in some sticky spots while looking for a cache (side of a cliff, high up in a tree, caves, etc.)

Who would try Sphere Riding?
I'm not as bold as I used to be. My answer is NO.
