Vinland Elementary School Disc Golf
« on: September 25, 2010, 04:46:58 PM »
A sign was spotted about offering disc golf to 7th grade kids.
It was on the Vinland Grade School.

As I thought my informant was wrong about EXACTLY what the sign says.
This IS a elementarary school  where the sign is and I originally thought it unuasual to adverstise for 7th grade.
Come to find out they are offering disc golf from 3rd to 5th graders to start by Sept. 28th.
Its only on one side adverising on a 2 side sign on the West side and only seen driving East on "The Vinland blacktop" unless you rubberneck.
What do you know about this Wiz????
Is there a small course they put in on the fairgrounds property possibly?
I was encouraged when hearing it was 7th graders but seeing it was much younger kids has me overjoyed.

Is this the Elementary school I find in DeSoto, KS?? http://www.desoto.k12.mo.us/default.asp?campus=vin

No mention of Disc Golf, of course they don't even provide a search bar.

Maybe they just have a portable basket or two and some discs. For 3rd to 5th graders, expecting them to stick with it even for a few holes at a time would be asking a lot.

Its in the Baldwin school district. Its in the town of Vinland and yes its spelled right. There is a winery out there and a small airfield. I already looked at several sites to show a link that tells of the district activities. I saw everything but disc golf. The actual school property is not big enough to have any kind of holes but the fairgrounds are close to the school and looks promising as to having space.
The road is Doulas County Road 450. Dave Wismer lives a few miles East of the school thats why I was asking him if he knew or heard anything. I drive by the school going to Tammy's parents. They live South of the school. I'm wanting to set up a course out at her parent's place but after hearing all the stories of the numerous timber rattlers and copperheads on the property it may not come to fruition. Maybe a good wintertime course!!
