Swope League 2015
« on: March 22, 2015, 12:12:28 PM »
Happy 2015 everyone...I know I am a bit late!!

I am excited to start my 4th year running Swope League...league is going to kick off on April 7 directly at 6pm.  I will be at the Club House as usual, so please come find me and get signed in as quickly as possible, so we can start on time.

I am going to play short pads and short pins with no OB (Mandos will be in play...that will not change this year).  Thanks to Patick who will move everything short by opening day!!  I hope to have a big group for the opening night!  Come on out and lets have a fun.

Van
816-665-1906 (please call or text if you are running late, if you need to get ahold of me, or if you just want to play a round sometime  ;D )

P.S.  I want to change up some league nights through out the summer...suggestions are always welcome.  I am thinking of some of the normal ones (All-In KCFDC Bag Tag nights, some BYOP and Random Dubs, etc.), but would like to hear from you and see what piques your interest.

I agree Van mixing Swope league up this year would be fun.  Tags, Random dubs, etc. would be fun....

All baskets have been moved short.  Get out there and practice for the next week.  Ace fund I heard is around $600.   Start the first week of league off with some money in your pocket...

Just a reminder that SWOPE LEAGUE starts tomorrow night at 6pm.  I should be there around 5:30 to start taking sign-ups.  I hope to see you there.

Zeke Henry went in and out twice. Both hit the bottom of the basket. Rhino both times. I had one hit the nipples and bounce off the basket.

Shannon Carson played for two's and shot a smokin hot 42.

Thanks to all. It was a blast!

Swope League 4/7/2015

It was a good start to the Swope League for this year.  34 came out to play on a beautiful evening.  Also, we had a lot f first-timer (league) players.  Thank you to all who came out.

The Ace Fund started out at $609, and with all 34 getting into the pot, we now have $643.  We played all short pads/baskets...no aces were hit, but there were multiple spit-outs and "metal" hits.  So, with that in mind, I'll give everyone another chance at the Ace Fund next week with continuing to keep things short.  On to the scores:

Open:
Shanan Carson - 42 - $14.00
Zeke Henry - 47 - $9.00
Dan Howard - 49 - $3.50
Eric Kolkmeier - 49 - $3.50
Jared Finley - 50
Anthony Martella - 50
Scott Oswalt - 52
Derek Holt - 53
Mike Fenton - 55
Jeremy Wade - 60

Advanced:
Joe Hammondtree - 48 - $9 KC Kash
Jerry Patterson - 54 - $5 KC Kash
Ryan Kuecker - 54 - $5 KC Kash
Neil Horton - 56
Mike Petrin - 57

Intermediate:
Zach Firl - 47 - $13 KC Kash
Bill Nicholson - 49 - $7 KC Kash
Charles Bryan - 49 - $7 KC Kash
Jeremy Lowry - 49 - $7 KC Kash
Ben Patterson - 50 - $7 KC Kash
Brendan Egan - 51 - $4 KC Kash
David Blackburn - 51 - $4 KC Kash
Derek Broockerd - 51 - $4 KC Kash
Anthony Birchfield - 52 - $3 KC Kash
Nathan Downes - 52 - $3 KC Kash
Justin Osborne - 53
Alex Parris - 54
Van Spratford - 55
Matt Aufricht - 56
Chris Lee - 56
Christopher Brown - 58
Nick Loehr - 61
Chris Fasl - 61
Tony Montiel - 62

Woah.. I don't have an answer but the AM1 and AM2 divisions confuse me and need some sort of re-vamp. 5 Players (from both divisions) would cash in open. Top 11 in AM2 would place ahead of (almost) the entire field in AM1. Is this a typo Van?

I get the course was set short.. Combining AM1 and AM2, or having a cap on entry? /shrug

Yeah, I noticed the same thing Utz. No typos. Lots of folks who don't want to play up yet. I get it. They are more comfortable there. Come on out next week for another run at the aces. OR you could play for birdies like Shannon, smart, and take home the cash.

And thanks to Van for posting scores and running league.

I've noticed that a lot of people enter league divisions like it is a tournament entry--which then looks like sandbagging in league.  League is different.  I have figured out that a lot of advanced players will play open--cash in league doesn't hurt the amateur status.  Some of us that never play advanced in tournaments will play advanced in league and be competitive or even win.  Am2 in league generally is for the rec/novice players since there is no Am3 or Am4.

It seems to sort itself out; hopefully it will this year too.  It already seemed like it sorted itself out in the SMP league after the first week.  One guy played Am2 because I didn't have an Advanced Masters division.  Maybe i should offer that too, though there were just two of us there Tuesday night.
