Title: Friday Traveling League?
Post by: hberciunas on November 17, 2012, 09:49:40 AM
A group of us have been playing two rounds on Fridays for the last few weeks.

We play two different courses in one day two courses in same area. We went to Emporia this week and played Jones West and Peter Pan.

Courses are picked during the week trying to hit unplayed and/or unique courses. Meeting places and carpooling available. We hope to continue this outing and see more involved. Anyone welcome to join the fun.

Anyone interested in making this a "league." $5 pitch in, ace pool and payouts?

Or we could play "skins" Quarter per hole or ????

Ideas for this coming week? NOTE: day after Thanksgiving?????

Harold, what do you think about playing Marshall this Friday? They have two great courses down there.

I would love to play Marshall. I was kinda hoping for Rosie up and down this week to practice for the tourney on Sunday.

Also, my son and son in law might join us for one or both rounds - especially if it is close.

I might get to take a private tour at Boulevard Brewery after as well.

Let's see what the others in the group are up for . . .

We'll surely do a Marshall trip soon if not this week ...

Looks like I can only play one round. (Although I might get a late round in).

Our private Boulevard tour will be early afternoon, so if I am able to drive I might try down under after.

Anyone up for Rosie top side in the morning?

What time Harold?  I'm dropping off the wife at the airport early and was gonna head over to Smithville but I'm always happy playing Rosie.

Today was a blast, thanks for having me along!

We ended up playing 2 down under rounds, the hi-lights (besides that bottle of American Honey!!)...  Harold face masking hole 1 during the first round, we all thought it was in!  Jeff O parking the "new" hole 9 during the 2nd round, a sweet anny left of the big tree that turned right and just went straight at the basket, stopped ~ 15ft short.  Love that hole, great work gents!!!!!

I can make Wyco but not sure about Saturday, it'd be helpful if Rob chimed in about his latest greatest batch of brew ;).   Skins/Ace is fine with me.   Also hoping to get a friday Am round in, RoZ or WW, I need to get by DGW at some point.

That course is technically closed after the sun goes down. I would be cautious of the Joco popo.

Ah, my last batch of beer is a Belma Pale Ale.  Belma hops are a new variety created by 4th generation Peterburgh Farms in Yakima Valley.  I'm interested to see how it turns out.  Next batch up is our annual high gravity beer.  This year it will be a Doppelsticke Alt.  Then we are doing a Schwarzbier and a Czech Pils.

Oh wait, I thought I was on the homebrewers forum.

Disc golf - I'm tentatively planning on playing Glow this evening.  My wife is sick so it depends on how she is managing.  If the JOCO cops are learking, maybe we should pick a different course?  Or do we want to break the law anyways?

Personally, I'm a cheap skate, so I'm not down with skins, Ace money, etc.

hmmm if the popo are that bored than I'll take the warning I'm still gonna go its only 5min from my house just park in the parking lot and not on the side of the road. I've talked to a few guys that play there a lot and they never had any problems

You're gonna be the birthday boy, Matt, I think you should pick the course and flavor of beer.  Hopefully waterworks and hoppy wheat but I'm down for any and all.

I'm kegging some beer in the AM (yea, putting beer in the keg instead of taking it out) but will be over in the afternoon.  I'll text HP to see where and when after we are closer to being done.

I'm working tomorrow morning also but plan on making the afternoon round.  I don't get to play the Winter Wonderland so a round at Rosy's not as important to me as it may be to others, Waterworks is always FUN!

Is there any type of wagering involved in this Friday shin dig? What is the format?

Tom,

So far it has been pretty casual, mostly playing for tags.

Last week we did play wyco quarter skins. This week started the ace fund (now at a whopping $16 . . . will prob get some padding for next week.

We are always open for suggestions. We are even open for making it an official KCFDC league coming in spring, which will mean some payouts, or keep it unofficial and have payouts anyway.

We probably moving to just one round for next several weeks (daylight issues and significant others needing rides home etc.)

Thinking P.Hill next week.
