Saturday "Casual" Doubles at 12:30

Playing $5 random draw doubles on Saturdays at 12:30.

Last week (11/20) we had 9 players out...Dan/Lee won with a 48 (birding 5 of the final 6 holes)...Brian/Tony hung tough through 14 holes and finished with a 51 to take 2nd...

We decided to move this to 12:30 versus 11:30 so it will be during the warmest part of the day for the winter...

Casual Saturday Doubles, 11/27(Clear 50 - 54, wind 3 - 9, South - Southwest)

Eleven players out for Casual Doubles at Legacy on a gorgeous Fall afternoon.  Course is still in prime shape.   Dan/Cali Dan had quite the battle with Lee/Matt, with no more than a stroke seperating the two teams until Dan/Cali Dan birdied #14 to take a 2 stroke lead...the teams matched scores for the remainder of the round...Dan/Cali Dan took the win with a 48, Lee/Matt took second with a 50.  Interesting side note...Dan/Cali Dan only used 6 Cali throws for the round...2 drives (still bogeyed the holes #3 and #6), 1 approach (saved par on #8), and 3 putts (birdied 2 out of 3).  Shot of the day, Lee's drive on #4...wound up basically pin high with #4's long placement on the north side of #3's fairway...over 450' uphill into a mild headwind!

Casual Saturday Doubles, 12/4(Partly Cloudy 33, wind North - Northwest 17 - 20 gusting to 30)

Twelve players out for Casual Doubles at Legacy on a cold and windy afternoon.  LSPR moved the following pins on Wednesday: #1 Short, #3 Long, #4 Short, #5 Short, and #13 Right.  Even with the course set shorter, scores were up...I guess the wind might of had something to do with it .  Jason/Lee had their way today cruising to a 3 stroke win with a 50...Dan/Fox took 2nd with a birdie on #18 to finish at 53...

Four players out for Casual Doubles at Legacy on a brutally windy and cold afternoon.  Since we were there...we decided to play a round of wolf (to go with the howling wind)...some of us celebrated when we made it back to the cars...

Casual Saturday Doubles, 12/18(Overcast 31 - 33, wind South - Southwest 3 - 5)

Twentyone players out for Casual Doubles at Legacy on a seasonal winter afternoon. We saved the best for last...I believe this was the largest turnout of the year!   After all the dust settled Matt Hayes/SteelerDoug were tied with Brandon/Lee for first with 47s...Brandon/Lee won on the first playoff hole after Lee put his drive within 20' (looked like it was going to be a push when Hayes put his 35' putt in dead center...but it bounced straight back out  ).  Had a playoff for 3rd place too, with Amanda/Jerod and Jordan/Paul tied at 48...Jordan/Paul took the playoff with a bird on #2.

No DG next week...have a Merry Christmas and we'll see you next year...
