As long as their rating is below 935, it's allowed by the rules.

Rules are rules but with only 12 ppl in ADV, you'd think the higher rated players (900+) would have a better shot at "cashing" playing in that division.  A lot more ppl to compete against in Int.

Heck, I'm signed up for REC and am thinking about switching...

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not hating on it, and I understand the Ratings minimums, etc...

I sometimes just don't get why people don't want to challenge themselves.....move up, get better.  8)

Maybe they've been watching too much football and drinking too much beer this winter, and need to play "down" for the season opener to loosen up the old bones. Maybe their best buds are playing intermediate, so they want to be with them. Maybe they're not sure about the weather in late February and don't want to take a chance on being in a higher division if it is a snowy, sleety, muddy morass. Maybe they *really* need the fun bucks for that shiny new disc they've been itching to buy, but they know they will be murdered by their spouse if they come home from the store with a bunch of new discs. . . again. Maybe they're feeling a little down and need the cheap high of a win. Maybe they just want to.

Intermediate is on Sunday.  Advanced is on Saturday.  That could play a part.  Personally, I like playing different divisions.  I am 882 rated and signed up in intermediate - I won't play rec though I am eligible.  Sometimes I play advanced grandmasters.  At SMP I could play advanced and be comfortable.

Plus ratings are just a thing.  I've beaten lots of 900 + rated players and lost to lots of 850 rated players.

Two now.  I'm guessing the early bird options are over? (just trying to be funny, I know you mentioned it like 3 times in this thread). I like the new discount option, too bad I didn't make up my mind earlier :P

The "way too early" weather outlook for Frostbreaker weekend is currently looking wet & windy.

Friday - Showers (60%), high 60 deg
Saturday - AM Showers (40%), high 57 deg, 11 mph winds
Sunday - AM Showers (40%), high 56 deg, 16 mph winds

Being Kansas, I'm sure this will change daily from now until then!
