The Bloomington Park course is separate from the state park course. The Bloomington course is on the west side of Clinton Lake in Bloomington Park and is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Federal). The Mowery's Meadows course is operated in Clinton State Park by the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (State).
Basically, the Corps owns all the land around the lake, but the state (KDWPT) manages Clinton State Park and a large portion of the wildlife area on the west side of the lake. There are also large portions that the Corps manages in-house.
We have separate federal and state rangers, some variations in rules, etc. Just wanted to clarify because this seems to generate a bit of confusion.
As for a course update on the Bloomington course, here is where we are at---
Teepads are installed. 95% of clearing is done. Baskets are 99% assembled. 68 of 73 anchors are installed. (5) foot bridges need constructed (lumber and equipment are purchased). Signs are in design phase but will have a several month delay.
As was speculated in earlier posts, there will be some major similarities to the Longview Course at Perry Lake. Same baskets (besides color), but with 1 extra placement per hole. Less remote location and slightly different topography. Abundant parking, camping, restrooms, and a nice swimming beach adjacent to course. Hope this helps.
