Do we have any certified electricians in the club?  If you are, please get in touch with me or send me a PM.
Jerry Patterson owns Johnson County Electric. You may call him. Dunno if he gets on here or not.

Tournaments / Re: 2014 Roc vs. Buzzz at Swope Park on September 28th

I have tried to contact everyone who has played in this the last two years and have recv'd many RSVP's already. So, if you contacted  me already, I've got you on your team already. Registration will be available at DD and DGW Wednesday. If you want to play this event and have not contacted me, you should pre register as it is limited to 60 total players.

Thanks and I am still deciding which team I am going to throw for. Yes, I am finally going to try to play this thing.  :D

Roc v Buzzz III
September 28th, 2014
Swope Park
30.00 USD
Two rounds of team play
2 Rounds of 21 holes par 63
Players declare a team: Roc or Buzzz
30 players to each team
60 total players
Thanks to our sponsors the KCFDC, the West Plaza Tomato Company, Innova, and Discraft.

Please sign up early if you want to be part of this event.
Your entry includes two discs- one KC Pro Flat Top Roc and one Crystal Buzzz with custom stamps, lunch on site, beverages, libations, CTPs both rounds and a Ring-of-Fire between rounds. Lots of prizes. Ace fund is included in your entry @ $2 per entry. There’ll be a DJ too.

Discs: Team Roc can throw all Roc models except Classic Rocs. Buzzzes include all models. You must choose a team and you may only throw the disc for that team. You may carry and throw as many of your team’s disc as you wish. I recommend throwing the same discs again though. There will be a mix of short, mid, and long holes. You will play for overall position and your team.

Schedule as follows (subject to change to meet the needs of the day): 8:30 check-in, 8:50 players’ meeting, 9:00 tee off, 11:30 lunch and drinks, 12:00 ring-o-fire, 12:40 second round start, 3:45 awards, CTP if needed to settle ace fund.

This was a great time the last two years with Team Roc winning by a hair both times. David Valdiviez, last year’s Roc champ, is playing for Team Buzzz this year. Will 2012 champ, Jose Ossa, return for Team Roc? Who will rise to the occasion? Either way, my plan is to put on a great player focused event highlighting the best of our community.
BTW, The Chiefs play Monday night this week, so no excuses for football.

Future variant idea: Give or allow each participant to throw both a Roc & a Buzzz...THEN see which is superior for each thrower.  Whutevah.

...or, a Roc vs Buzzz Ace Race where each participant throws both on each hole to determine superiority.

I just hope you can make it this year!

Detroit Coney food truck will be out there to grab a snack if needed. The KCFDC is also donating some club merchandise and other items for prizes and the raffle. Looking forward to it!

Roc3 and Zombee included in this too?

No modified anything. Roc or Buzzz. Simple-ish.

Details next week, but, yes, players sign up for Roc or Buzzz and throw that team's discs exclusively. The one  exception being the Classic Roc; it is not allowed as it is a smaller diameter disc and is a great putter (as well as mid range). That means Rancho, Roc3, KC Pro, Flat Top, etc only for Team Roc (no classics, yo!). For Team Buzzz it's SS, FLX, D, Crystal, OS, and so on. This is not an ace race. You play out on each hole as usual but with only your team's discs; hence, R vs B. With the introduction of the Buzzz OS and the Roc3, the competition should be even tighter this year.

I've been working on the layout and it's going to be a big change for Swope; we'll start at hole nine and play safari going backwards for twenty-one holes. It is a completely new look at the gully course.

Details and registration next week.

Now we're talking the best plastic around. Most of my drivers are lighter around 168 but I throw a couple 150's as well.
In the bag:
11x Champion Tee Bird 150
CE Valkyrie 175 (as stable as a destroyer)
Pearly Champion Beast 169
Star Roadrunner 169
G Star Tern 170
Champion Leopard 168
11x Champion Eagle 165

Otherwise I love to throw:
Valks, the amazing Star Sidewinder,Beasts, 11x Eagles and TeeBirds, 2x Champion Leopards, the occasional Wraith, but you see I throw lighter and flippier.

Yes, one shot. If you hit metal or an ace, you get points. No putting, no approaches. Really fun.

Kitz and Caleb played off for first in Open. Kitz took the dollar. A lovely night and thanks to all who came out.  We played short pads except 5 and all OBs and Mandos. Lots of ace runs but no luck/love tonight. There’s a great spread through all divisions at Swope this summer. It’s a good vibe out there folks. Thanks to Van, Patrick, Ben, Stiles, Cashen,  the aluminum can guy, and everyone I am forgetting. I had the pleasure of a mediocre round with Brett and Thomas.

Kitz Siebert  44 won play off $10
Caleb Walker 44 a respectable tying score $9
Derek Holt 51
Eric Kolkmeier 51
Thomas Davis (a rare appearance and an unlikely score) 53

Advanced KC Cash
Eddie Colbert 49 $8 (you are owed 2. I made a mistake)
Trevor Albers 50 $7
Graham Long 50  $5 (I screwed up the payout for Trever and Graham. Should be 6 and 6)
Ben Patterson 54
Luke Biskup 54
Brett Main 54

Intermediate KC Cash
Bill Nicholson (in from Kansas) 51  $10
David Blackburn 53 $6
Nate Zier 60 $5
Adam Abernathy 62
Carl Aufnar 62

Thread hijacking!

So does this mean we have interest in Roc V Buzzz again? :0

Sounds like it was fun Peter.
