Oceans of Fun

I know there was a course in Oceans of Fun or Worlds of Fun at one point.  I'm assuming it's gone, since it isn't listed on the forum.  Any info on when it went away, why, where the baskets went?

Thanks,

Hey Rizbee! That's one mighty low PDGA number... the Oceans of Fun course closed YEARS ago. It was nine holes, and they only offered Fastback knock-offs for rental. I played it once or twice with a putter. Nuthin' major...

Wow, that's a blast from the past. Now that I think of it, that's the first place I ever played disc golf. I went there with the wife and kids back in the mid-eighties and spent all my time playing disc golf and made everyone else mad at me. I soon discovered Rosedale and never looked back. I haven't been to Oceans of Fun in so long I wouldn't have known whether it was still there or not, but it doesn't surprise me to know it's gone.

Its gone the baskets vanished, they put in a new ride that took over the area that was there.  I forgot to add that to the list of courses that I played in all honesty, up to 364 now!!

Hey Rizbee,

From what I could determine from talking with the Ocean of Funs rep at the Missouri Parks and Rec trade show about 5 years ago was that the baskets were most likely trashed. Ouch!

Please do try to make it for the KC Worlds. It will be a very good one!

Trivia: KC folks should know that Rizbee put together the first Course Directory back in 1985 or 1986 or one of those years.
