Some of will have to miss the Corporate Challenge this year to attend the Masters. I advised the CC folks over a month ago to not hold the CCDG on this weekend, but they do what they want.  ::)

Not sure IFF Oklahoma's Sunday beer sales rules have changed since I was last down there...but I seem to recall they could only sell warm (full strength) beer on Sunday's.   >:(
So, plan ahead.

This is a true statement.  Also, you may want to bring you're own beer, as the beer there is....ummm....weak.

Most hedonistic hophead DG'ers are not above instant gratification...and will be shocked they can't just go buy what they want - when they want it.  Waiting for beer to chill down?  Puh~lease!   :P

You can buy cold beer everyday and anytime from gas stations, convenience stores, etc. It's only going to be 3.2 weak sauce though.

Liquor stores are the only place you can get good beer, wine or liquor, but they cannot sell it cold. Liquor stores close at nine and are closed sunday. So if you need a nip on sunday you might as well get some natty because it's all gonna be just as weak.

In KS, only liquor stores can sell good beer.
In TN, liquor stores cannot sell beer, you have to go to a grocery store.
In AL and SC, they actually have taps in some liquor stores and you can fill up growlers, water jugs, etc. of beer at the store.
KS, KY others have dry counties.
MN can't sell beer over 3.2 on Sundays.
KS, I can't share my homebrew with people outside of my home.
MS, homebrewing just finally became legal in 2013.

but Oklahoma...

Arkansas has some dry counties too.  I almost was arrested for bootlegging because I was in the truck with all the beer coolers for a float trip down there.  We had probably 20 cases of beer in the back and you are only allowed 2 per person.  There were 2 of us in the truck and so we had to dump out 16 cases of beer on the side of the road or we were going to jail.   :'(

anybody want to carpool?

I am probably driving up early Thursday Morning to Tulsa.   I am hoping to check out Blackhawk and Redhawk courses prior to playing them in tourney, at least walk them to figure out layout..   Are there any carpools going?  I will likely have access to a 12 person passenger van.  Does anyone need a ride?    or if no need to take van maybe i could get a ride?   I would be leaving from my house near I-35 and Johnson drive between 5-7 am.  I am flexible though.     I  would plan on leaving asap sunday after tournament to come back to kc.

Deciding where to book a room as well,  I was thinking the Ramada Inn on skelly?  anybody else going to be there?

let me know if interested.   can also email me at rushfor3@yahoo.com

I would spend more time checking out Blackhawk if I were you.  Redhawk is pretty straight forward, with only a couple of tricky...ish...holes.  Blackhawk is gonna be the bear.  Think narrower Charlotte golf.  8)

Last night on the Selinske Tulsa Masters Facebook page:

OK, we have an issue. As of this evening 20 of you do not have a current officials test and 8 of you are not a current PDGA member. This is a PDGA Major and there is no TD discrection. If you are not current on both you simply cannot play. Please take care of this. If we have 20 players inelgible that affects a lot!! I am imposing a deadline of Wednesday night at 9:00 PM CDT to be current with the PDGA and officials test. Please tell your friends. Thank you..

I see at least two in our area that is not PDGA current / or passed officials test.  Looks like you have about 36 hours to fix this.

Thanks Rob, I don't think either of them are on here.  I called them both this morning.  Beckett took care of his, I haven't heard from Danny yet, but I am sure he got the message!

good seeing lots of KC folks down there representing the event.  I played HORRENDOUS yesterday, especially after the rain delay, but had a good time in T-Town!  As you get older, seeing the people play that run so many of the events is a unique time to thank those that help the sport.  This event really does become a leaders chance to enjoy the play event.

Thanks TDSA and the other members for getting the event done.  I appreciate it even if my play didn't show it as well....
