Anyone know about a new course at Pleasant Ridge Middle School?

I ended up finishing some errands early and swung by PRMS, here's what I found out.

1) Location: http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&q=Pleasant+Ridge+Middle+School&fb=1&gl=us&hq=Pleasant+Ridge+Middle+School&hnear=Pleasant+Ridge+Middle+School&cid=0,0,9333116059643875235&ei=XGC2S_awD4PwsQPmpomXBA&ved=0CAcQnwIwAA&ll=38.830832,-94.68833&spn=0.008324,0.021136&t=h&z=16

2) 18 Holes (New baskets, looked like Mach V's from the road, but not sure)

3) Pitch and Putt, all holes looked to be 100' or less

4) There were tee signs and mulch tee areas.

Might take the boy out there tomorrow, details to follow.
If the tee signs have distances I'll take note and post

It may not be a course that gets much action from the club but it's certainly encouraging that there is a new beginner course in town.

I've worked with Andrew out there to develop this, he is in charge of the maintenance of the park.  I think the location is ideal, you have all ages out there.

I played the course this afternoon with Gary L and my son.

Yes it's short but still a real challenge.

There are tee sign and mulch pads for every hole, but no distance on the signs?
Gary and I played with Rocs and putter only.
Based on the wind and how far we were able to drive I'd guess all holes are 150-250 (at the most)

The design is a GREAT use of the land, a tip of the hat!!

Many of the holes are wide open but there are a number that require you to work
around trees and through a few tunnels in the woods. In addition, quite a bit of elevation
change from hole to hole.

Being it's close proximity to home, and my desperate need to improve my sort game, I'll
be there A LOT this summer.

I'll try to lay the holes out on the Google Map link I posted earlier.

I will be spending Easter Sunday about 2 miles from there.  I know there is going be some time between Church, Easter dinner, and coming home in the evening...so, I may run out there with my GPS and try to map the distances the the holes, plus it would be a great way to get in a short round.  Anyone up to help?

I too went out to play around 4:15.  The wind made it pretty difficult on one hole (bad driver choice), but a bunch of 2's and 3's for the most part.  It only took me about an hour and 15 minutes.

Sorry, for some reason, I could not get my GPS to acquire satellite signal, so did not map it.  Though, David's looks fairly accurate.

Anybody know if you're allowed to play this course while school is in session or do you have to wait till school is out to play it?

Snake alert!

Saw one on Saturday, two more on Sunday.

Both times down by holes 8, 9 and 10.

The one on Saturday looked like this: http://www.gpnc.org/pkingsnake.htm
and he was a good sized one, 3' at least

The two on Sunday looked like this: http://www.gpnc.org/gpratsnake.htm
and were not quite as large.

In both cases, we left the little critters alone to do their thing....

I took the Google map and added hole number and a table with disctance.
Again, distance is from Google Maps. I believe it's pretty close and should do for now to get
first timers around the course easier.

AS with all schools that have courses I would imagine that ask that you refrain from playing while school is in session.  I have never heard of a school that allowed it, its just too distracting to the students, and that location in particular has ages from 5-18, so....its busy, best bet is to play on the weekends, or after 4(traffic)

Well that is what I would assume, I was just curious if anyone knew.
