Post by: dclabe on October 11, 2010, 02:13:02 PM
Casual Friday Night Doubles, Friday 10/8(Clear 85-75, wind 8 - 10 South southwest)

Eight players out for casual Friday Night Doubles at Legacy on a beautiful Indian Summer evening.  Course is in prime shape, LSPR remowed the fairways including expanding the fairways on several holes...the course looked gorgeous.  LSPR moved the following baskets last Thursday: #1 Long, #4 Long, #5 Long, #6 Long (first time in this position since shortly after the baskets went in), #8 Long, #13 Left, and #15 Long...the course is pretty much tipped out with only #18 Short (for those needing more abuse, you can always play to the practice basket  :-*).  Eric/Dan shot a boogie free 49 to take the win, followed closely by Brian/Paul with a 50....

Casual Friday Night Doubles, Friday 10/15(Clear 71 -66, wind 5 - 8 East - Northeast)

Eleven players out for casual Friday Night Doubles at Legacy on another gorgeous Indian Summer evening.  Course is still in prime shape.  Dave/Slim threw down a new course record (in this configuration) with a boogie free 47...the word was that Dave dialed long distance on a birdie putt on #5, Slim said that he in essence parked #15 with his drive (then they didn't birdie #16  ???).  Brad/Dan took second with a 50 (6 birds but 2 boogies).  Another shot of note was Paul's leaner on #15, he landed about 3 feet from the pin then rolled up and leaned on the pole.

Casual Friday Night Doubles, Friday 10/22(Cloudy 65 - 63, wind 5 - 6 Southeast)

Nine players out for casual Friday Night Doubles at Legacy on rainy looking evening.  Course is still in prime shape.  Had a few sprinkles at 5 when we drew cards but it was dry for the rest of the round.  Slim called (running late as usual ::)) so we drew for him and his partner played Cali until Slim arrived...even though his partner boogied the first 2 holes before Slim arrived (and they had a boogie on #4), it still didn't keep Slim/Tim from cruising to the win with a 49.  Some highlights of their round were Slim thumbing Tim's Epic 570' on #10 (20' past the pin...they missed the putt for bird)...7 consecutive birds (12 thru 18) with Slim having 2 near Aces...drawing metal on #13 and within 2' on #15 long.

word.  and just because we throw a little farther than 170' doesn't mean we don't suck.

Casual Friday Night Doubles, Friday 10/29(Clear 64 - 58, wind 8 - 12 gusting to 18 South)

Ten players out for casual Friday Night Doubles at Legacy on superlative evening.  Course is still in prime shape.   Slim called (running late as usual ) so we drew for him and his partner played Cali until Slim arrived (5 holes later  ::))...it still didn't keep Jay/Slim from pulling out the 1 stroke win over Bob/Dan  :-\...both teams had they same amount of birdies, but Jay/Slim had 1 less boogie...Jay/Slim shot -2 on the front and -2 on the back, while Bob/Dan shot +2 on the front and -5 on the back...

Jesse it was fun playing with you, keep working on those drives and you will get better. As with anything the more you practice the better you will get.
