This is the first time Maverick DG has ever cancelled an event due to weather.

Due to the anticipated Winter Storm for Sunday, the Sunday edition of this event is being cancelled. Saturday's weather will be so nice, that we will increase the registration from 72 to 90. The 18 spots will only be given to those Sunday participants that want to move from Sunday to Saturday and will be given in order of registration and who have not already withdrawn from Sunday.

If you were to play on Sunday, I need you to confirm, to me, that you will be playing on Saturday no later than 7pm tonight, Friday 11/23 night. If I do not receive your confirmation, the opening will go down to the next available person. IF there are still openings after we've gone through all Sunday's people, THEN the openings will be offered to those on Saturday's wait list. IF there are still openings, which I doubt, I will then make an announce on how we will fill them.

Fifth installment of the Centennial Chain Crash.

Two rounds of 18 at Centennial Park in Lawrence, KS.

Divisions are split between Saturday and Sunday.

All Advanced, Recreational and Junior divisions on Saturday:

All Pro and Intermediate divisions on Sunday:

Amateur player pack includes:

One Premium Innova Disc (average value $16.50)
One pair of custom Maverick socks (retail value $18)
One Christmas mini marker ornament ($3)

Plus, Yankee Tank Brewery donated 5 cases of beer per day for those that are of legal drinking age.  It will be free after the 2nd round.

GRIPeq BX and CS bags will be given away for the Ace fund.  If no aces are hit, they will be given through a CTP game for those that paid in.  Proceeds from Ace fund help pay for park fees, portable restroom rentals, PDGA registration, etc.

Win your card, win a prize second round.
Free raffle for those that pre-register only during the Player Meeting.

Plus, Centennial has new DD Veteran baskets.

Walk-ups are welcomed, but each day is strictly limited to 72 players.  Saturday will fill for sure, and I'm guessing Sunday will too.

I'll pay by check when I pick the basket up.

Coming up in less than two weeks.

Two Maverick DG events left for the year. Next one is Big Blue Monster, November 10.

It's for real.  Don't hurt yourself.  The prizes are not that big.  Like maybe a couple of discs.

Admin, will you pin please?  Thank you.

Are you going to fly like a pterodactyl, or are you going to let the Big Blue Monster beat you down?

This is a marathon 1-round PDGA Sanctioned C-tier.  All 27 holes at Blue Valley set to as long as they will go.  Expect the round to last 5 hours.  13,000'+ Par will be around 96.  Will know for sure by tee time.

All amateur players will receive an Innova Discs Pro Plastic disc and a Maverick logo pin. There will be additional payouts for Intermediate and above. Recreational & Jr players will receive the disc and pin plus a bonus item (your choice of Innova patch, Innova lapel pin, Innova license plate frame or Innova playing cards).

Tournaments / Thursday Throwdown at Water Works 10/18/2018 Sanctioned C-tier
« on: September 28, 2018, 03:45:42 PM »
Yes, this is a sanctioned PDGA event on a Thursday

Full two rounds on shotgun start like a lot of C-tiers, just on a Thursday.  Allows those with non-traditional work schedules, days off, vacation days to burn, etc. to play in a sanctioned tournament.

Pros payout is cash (check actually).  100% after PDGA and KCFDC fees are deducted ($3 total)

Advanced, Intermediate - no player pack, 100% payout (after fees) in merchandise credit.

Recreational division - voucher for $17 towards anything you want.  No additional payout.

No junior divisions, you should be in school.  If you don't have school, play Rec.

$10 additional fee if not PDGA current BUT, if you register or renew for the PDGA after 10/1/18, your membership carries through to the end of 2019.  May as well register.

Trophies will be very simple frames made by the same inept hack job as the flyer above by me, Rob Martin.  Try to hold your excitement.

Pre-registration really really helps to make the event run smoother.  We will take walk-ups though.  However, if a division was not created through pre-registration, but then created due to a walk-up, there will not be a trophy for that division.

any updates on this?

Not to be confused, this Swope Park is in Cottonwood Falls, KS.  It's about 18 miles west of Emporia.  Course was designed by Eric McCabe and features this for one of the greens:

Probably want to unstick this thread?

ADMIN - Maybe we need to have the KCWO on the front page?

We will be continuing the bid process until the baskets are ordered from the city to replace.  This should be done this week.  Once the order has been placed and we are notified, there will be a 48 hour window put out for the "close" of the auction.  At that time all last minute bids will then go into a 24 hour window.  In other words, if you try to bid at the 11:55 PM mark because the bid ends at midnight, the clock "restarts" until 11:55 the next night.  This is to prevent someone from coming in and trying to snipe the basket.  I hope you can understand, but we all have to be fair with those that want the baskets, as well as ensuring that everyone has a fair shake.  These are the rules.  Once a date is determined I will post in all the appropriate places, FB and KCFDC forum.

kudos, it also maxes revenue for the club.  Good way to do this

Cool, thanks.  I double posted here and on dgscene because I wasn't totally sure which one was being looked at.

Thank you
