Anyone know how to get a hold of Mark Martin?  He left me a message about the possibility of hosting a tourney in Ottawa the day after the LSDiscs open but didn't leave a return number.  PM me if you have his #.  Thanks.

lol.  I got a hold of him.  He was interested in me running a tourney in ottawa the day after the lsdiscs open.  We will be in touch with their parks and rec and let you know what's up.

Met with the shawnee county p&r today and got some stuff figured out.  We will be setting up an alternate course for the tourney, but won't be the same one that we have used the past two years.  It will be one that was used for the shunga 5+ years ago when Bruce was running it.  Definately a quality course with a lot of elevation, ob, water, etc...  and should be a lot of fun.  There are some trees that have gotten bigger since we last used it so it should be interesting.  Will post more info as I have it.

Don't forget to get yourself paid up for this tournament in advance and save yourself $5! We will be laying out the alternate course this weekend and I will post on here details concerning the course (hole length, elevation, obs, etc...). We are hoping for another tourney with great attendance at the Lake this year!

Also, DDDC club members recieve $5 off for the tournament. If you aren't a member and would like to register, talk to us at sign up and we can get you set up. DDDC memberships are $20 and receive and cryztal challenger or buzzz, club t-shirt, and bag tag. You can sign up for the tourney at the following links...

We are hoping/planning on setting up the course through this week and have it complete by friday to allow people to play it once before the tourney.  It will be set up as was back in the older days of the shunga when duece was running it... with some tweeks!  We should have maps by friday.  If we do, get it completely set up, we will do byop doubles friday evening with an am and open divisions.  Probably something like $10 per team.  I will know tonight whether or not we will have it completely set up by friday.  Registrations are coming in fast.  Hope to see you this weekend.  Will post more as I know more....

Is the doubles going to be random draw or bring your partner?

People are more than welcome to just come and play if they don't have a partner also.  The course is well marked and should be easy to follow.

Unless we go over 90 players, we will all be playing the same courses each round starting with the original course. If we go over 90 it will be as follows....

Open, Masters, and Advanced Divisions will be playing Permanent, then Temporary

All others will be playing Temporary then permanent.

Lunch specials are being offered at lunch at Glory Days pizza for a large 1 topping pizza for $9....

Applewood BBQ Lunch sandwich and two side special for lunch and dinner for $5.

We will be doing the awards at Applewood BBQ to try and get into the AC after the two scorching rounds. Both Applewood, and Glory Days are located north of the course on 29th street just west of the sonic. I will give better directions tomorrow. Definately let either place know that you are with the disc golf tournament as they have both expressed interest in sponsoring future events if they see they get some good business out of it. See you all tomorrow.

A big thanks to everyone who came out, especially those who traveled quite a ways to make it for a 1 day tourney! We had 104 players show up today to bear the heat and humidity to play some golf! That's dedication! I will be calling the pdga on monday to figure out what the problem is with the ratings as it appears it thinks everyone was playing the same course at the same time. I switched it on the report to reflect the proper courses, but it appears to still be having issues. I got some feedback on the alternate course, but would love to hear any other opinions on how we could improve it for future use. We would love to have another permanent course out there but it is like pulling teeth to get things approved around here. Thanks again for all that made the trip.

I fixed the ratings online, at least as far as I could tell.  Looks like Advanced, Advanced Masters, and Recreational played Temporary first, than regular Lake Shawnee, and everyone else played in the reverse order, and that's how I aligned it online.  If this is incorrect, let me know and I'll fix it.

Chap
