Title: 2010 PITT Open...April 24th...Pittsburg KS
Post by: kselrod on March 13, 2010, 11:10:03 PM
Please visit www.pittdgc.110mb.com for info on the PITT OPEN!

I can't seem to figure out how to attach a pdf to this message board and don't want to type out all the info.  If someone could help me in this area I would appreciate it.

This tournament will take place at Schlanger Park which we have a proposal to put in 18 permanent holes at this location if funding is approved.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Hope to see some of you there!

Thanks

The Comfort Inn & Suites is offering players a special rate of $83 plus tax a night for up to four people in a room.  So get four buddies and for $25 a piece you can come down on Friday night and play the temp course early during the doubles tournament and come out to the pre-reg party and get a free meal and possibly listen to a local band.  Make your reservations early because there are other events going on around town and rooms are going fast.  Hope to see some of you there.

Be sure you mention the PITT Open rate when making a reservation!

If this event is anything like their Ice Bowl it will be a blast. There is a small town charm karma thing going on down there, and the Pitt crew along with the Disc Golf Monkey are some fine folks.  8)

I'll be thinking about you guys when I am playing Golden Gate State Park this week.

Pittsburg Kansas...we were paying disc golf there in the early eighties!

Have fun everyone!

Besides the weather, which kept some people away I think, everything went great.  We had 45 players despite rain all morning, and it finally clearing out during the afternoon round.  I heard a lot of positive comments about the temp course which we hope to hear by Friday if we can go permanent status.  Everyone liked the early doubles round and all the added extras in food that we offered to players.  We hoped to max out at 90 players but with the rain hurting those numbers, we can shoot for those numbers next year at this time since we have a lot of support from the city and local businesses to do this again.  Hope everyone enjoyed the course that played!

I hope to hear good news on Friday on my way to the St. Louis Open that the course will be going in permanently next month.  That's when it will be worth coming down to Pittsburg to play disc golf.
