Title: Ice Bowl Setup?
Post by: WrongfulLeaf on January 24, 2011, 03:54:28 PM
Is the Ice Bowl going to use the current hole setup? If not when will it be moved? Just curious because I was going to try to get a round in tomorrow.

Thanks

It will be short.  I was just disc-cussing this at lunch.  We hope to have it all set by no later than Friday.

Do you want me to set down under up short or do you have a more specific layout for down under?

HOw about the following Brad-
1-short
2-short
3-middle
4-short (man hate that hill though.....)
5-short
6-left
7-left
8-middle
9-right
10-short
11-short
12-middle
13-middle
14-left
15-short
16-short
17-short right
18-short

That should be ok, then I would ask that all pads left and short be used, except 18.  I will try to remember that announcement, but it really doesnt matter, only the score counts on Sunday for those using the Down Under.

For the Top, it will probably look something like this:
1-short
2-short right
3-left short
4-middle by the bridge
5-straight
6-right short
7-middle
8-short
9-short (don't wanna mess with the Mini course!)
10-middle left short
11-middle right (short, not Shortest)
12-middle open
13-short
14-stairs
15-short
16-by tree
17-short
18-short

Pretty much short, but not completely short.

I got a txt from Jim and the baskets should be moved (uptop) no later than Friday.   Steve Harris is on the mission I believe.   Jack and I may be out there Fri afternoon to make sure and do what is left if not done yet.

Let me know if this idea is too "Gloverish":

It would be fun to put DU #17 on that one setting that's like 30' from the pad, and then have an optional pre-round $2 sidebet pot with a drawing for those who make the "ace putt", which would get split 50/50 with the charity and the winner of the drawing. 8)

Since I'm working so, so hard at not working currently, I'll be out there between 2 and 3 today.  Will help out, and get some throws in as well.  8)

Thanks to James all baskets Down Under have been moved. Looks like a fun time with everything set pretty short. Bridges are still slick and the hills are a bit slick as well. Hope everyone has a great Ice Bowl.

The mulligans are only able to be used on Sunday so how is only keeping it to Sunday helping raise money since I played Saturday and only playing in the final 9 on Sunday??????????????
Shoulda been able to use them in any of the preliminary rounds.

buy a bunch sunday and either pretend you used them on saturday or give them away. it's the ice bowl, don't even think about approaching the brink of wimp/whinerdom!

That does sound like whining to me.....but then well....Glover thanks for the CTP prizes and cooking chili.

I have heard that mulligans should be available all day.  Now my initial rationale was that people playing on Saturday do not have to deal with the 4-5 hour round, and their game would not be as impacted by the delays as those on Sunday, hence Sunday people get an option to stay warm during the shot.

Upon further review, yeah its money for the charity and I missed the boat on it.

If only I could have had it handled in a tactful manner that approached tolerism and good counter arguments instead of a WTF attitude!
 :o ;D

Next year I hope to have it working accordingly to please those disc throwers on Saturday.

I think with the new 2-day format as an initial success that we may see this event grow even more so over the next year.

It was pretty kewl to watch a player use 8 mullis on one hole and 7 on another hole.  :o At least he got his biride on both.  ;D

I made up for my not actually having the mulligans because I bought 15 shots and never used the tickets.
To those curious as to why I didn't use the tickets. It was because I purchased them ahead of time along with my mulligan tickets but I forgot to bring the CTP tickets.
If anyone like Lee Killian was around me for all the excitement. You know I got my butt bit off for not having my phone on me after asking someone to bring the tickets to me. I guess "this person" was honking like mad in the parking lot and screaming at me to come to the car but nobody paid any attention. Good thing nobody was actually screaming for help.
Anybody else find this humorous??

does anyone else wonder why he didn't walk over to the ctp and explain his dilemma and get to throw his 15 throws out of the goodness of the hearts of all those who'd been listening to him moan about the mulligans? or why this isn't on the ice bowl thread?
wonder how many mullis leo used?

rule #2 = no whining:::: which is an interpretation of "explaining a dilemma"
