Title: Marshall Open - Saturday June 18th

Not many folks signed up yet but it should be fun. They have a pretty nice course in Marshall and it's only about an hour east of KC. Only thirty minutes north of me in Sedalia so I plan to attend. It is a C tier. I lost the flyer I had but I think it was $15 for rec and junior, $30 for Ams and $50 for Pros. But don't hold me to that.

Sounds like quite a few folks are headed out to Marshall. It's sad that the Bluebird event at PHill conflicted with this event but my understanding is that the Bluebird tour knew they were conflicting with this already scheduled event and scheduled up against it anyway thinking the two wouldn't draw the same crowd. We shall see. Hopefully both will be well attended. Since I don't intend to play any other Bluebird Series events I'm opting for Marshall. Should be good!

Do you have ANY contact info on the event at all?  I don't know time, trying to figure out if there is enough time to make it there, and back for the concert tomorrow night, or not.....I'd like to have an idea and that it would be done by 5:30 in order to make the trek.....

I had requested a copy of the flyer earlier and was just waiting on it. I did hear 8am to 9:30am open for registration then ~9:30 player meeting with a 10am tee off.

Rounds of around 2.5 hours has the day over at 4:30 minus hanging around for awards and such.

You can reach Jon Parsons on Facebook or at jparsonsj@gmail.com for more info.

We've played Marshall a number of times but not since they put in pads and the second 18. The original 18 was a real nice course in a beautiful park - #3, #12 and #17 really stand out in my fuzzy memory as nice holes!

Wish I was able to lace 'em up and play!

We won't be using the new course. It is still too wooly. Tee pads are on every hole now though, so no worries there.

I would hope so.  There are only maybe 8-10 people signed up currently.

I was told this morning by the TD that the new course would not be used for two reasons. Number one is that it's still too wooly because it's new and needs more work and number two is that it likely won't be needed due to the field size so why push it. We will certainly be able to take a look at the new course while there though, I haven't seen it yet.

I'll play wherever it makes sense to play.....I told him today that I was leaning towards Pro/Masters side, he siad he hadn't had anyone sign up yet for that.

I'll probably leave my house @ 7 at absolute latest......should be able to get home by 7 in order to shower and go shock the monkey....

Blues and BBQ event at the fairgrounds in Sedalia tomorrow night if you don't have any plans. Usually have pretty good bands. Here's the info:

http://www.sedalialions.org/mo-blues-cruise-bbq-event-info (http://www.sedalialions.org/mo-blues-cruise-bbq-event-info)

Sedalia is 30 minutes south of Marshall on US 65 and an hour east of Lee's Summit on 50 Highway.

Congrats to Brad Merys for the Masters win and to Billy Nelson and Mark Mills for heading home with more than the showed up with. And congrats to Jon Parsons for a successful First Marshall Open. We all knew going in he'd win the Adv. GM division.

These courses are fun! I predict bigger and better next year for this event.

That was an amazingly enormous shank Jack. Thank you for sharing that with the rest of the group!

I don't think that print will ever get just how god awful that shot was.....I think that I have seen ducks that were waddling backwards into a car look like they knew where they were going more than that shot of mine did.  Salvaging a three there was insane though, glad the hill protector was there!
