It would be cool to see this thread come alive again with all the changes that have come in over the last year and a half.  To that end:

1 ) Cliff
2 ) Water Works
3 ) Swope
4 ) Blue Valley
5 ) WyCO
6 ) Rosedale Top
7 ) Pleasant Hill
8 ) Shawnee Mission Park
9 ) Olathe
10 ) Yates

Apologies to Legacy and the new Blue Springs course - I still need to get out there and play.

How many freakin' courses do we have here now, anyway?  And how many are in the works?

The male Team Garmin had an excellent time.  I'm particularly glad we'll be bringing home the Gold since Bethany managed it all by herself.  Thanks to Rick and Dan and everybody else who put this on.

The only things I carried that day were shame and Brian's angry stare.

Good times, though.

nah, we just played badly.  the rain just exacerbated our already declining skill level.  it was actually pretty comical, we took it in stride though and still had a good time.

Yeah, but what I said was funnier.

Seriously, though, any day in which one can experience crappy play and laugh at it is a damn good day.

Oh well, at least my team still beat yours.  ;D

i was carried for two rounds by my brother who's played for a year.......

not carried as well as you though.

The only things I carried that day were shame and Brian's angry stare.

Good times, though.

Team Garmin accepts your Division A gauntlet, Mr. Timko.

Looking forward to it,

Yeah, this was a damn good time, weather and shameful score be damned.  Played with some quality people today.  Except Frosty.  That guy's a tool.

Thanks Rick, Timko, Kelly, et. al.

Good times - even if they weren't reflected in my score.

And I still owe Josh E. a buck for nailing the basket on 2.

Oh, the pink wraith remembers.  It's just pissed at being locked in my trunk for two years.  It's coming around, though.

Brian Palmer and I are now paid up.  I will be playing the part of the extremely rusty millstone about Brian's neck.

Can't wait.

Can I just respond here with a dropped jaw at Avery Jenkins' Blue Valley 53?  Palmer told me he deuced 10 and 11???  Seriously???  Is there video footage of this out there?

Yay worlds.

General Banter / Re: Legacy Park Course in Lee's Summit
« on: June 23, 2008, 09:54:46 am »

A coworker and Lee's Summit resident came to me this morning with news that some local publication indicated that Legacy Park would be included in the Worlds next year.  No ambiguity.

I assume that this directive has come down straight from the KCFDC powers that be.  I just wanted to communicate that this seems to be perceived as a concrete commitment.  Is this news, Rick?  Chap?

Another tidbit:  In discussing the Legacy course, it came up that Lee's Summit very strictly enforces a no-alcohol policy in their parks.  I reassured my friend that this would not be culture shock for our community, as we have already learned to deal with a similar situation in Shawnee Mission Park.  Still, I wanted to make sure the word was out to the club.

Still very excited to play this one.  It will be nice to have one more option here in the metro.  I have been playing sooooo much lately; I really need some new scenery to keep me from getting bored.  *Insert jab from BP here.*

Thanks again to all who put work into this.

Now all of us, Mafiosos and lesser creatures alike, can agree on Coug Huntin'.  So no argument there.

Never picked you for a Klansman, though, An-D.  And since when do they make the Grand Dragon wear a shiny belt?  Geez.  You think you know a guy.  Not cool, man.  Not cool.

I am keen on Lascivious Gunboat's idea to have another Bag Tag Bloodbath.  That was a damn good time.  Let's get some more s#it talking going between the Mafia and the Olathe Poofters and have us some fun.  We can include the P-Hill Camel Humpers in the mix too, if we want us a bilingual bloodbath.

The pride of our gangs is on the line here.  Represent and let's get some bad blood going!

One of these days I would enjoy throwing a few with you over lunch, CD.  Just have to catch a day when I have no conflicts, remember to throw my shoes and discs in the trunk, and have friendly weather.

Yeah, it's amazing the difference a decent night's sleep makes in the amount of fun you have during play.  For everyone but Andy "Lascivious Gunboat" Lewis, that is.  Thirty-two minutes of sleep is mother's milk to his game.

The tournament was a hoot.  And a holler.  Got to play on four great courses in gorgeous weather.  Met lots of nice folks from all over the place.  The music and BBQ was very nice.  It's hard to impress a KC-ite with mild memphis-style sauce, but I still wanted seconds.

Congrats again to the Lee's Summit Flip-Flop Strangla'.  What Double-Blunt didn't tell you was that three rec women entrants never made the tournament, and all three were found garotted in their beds.  Coincidence?  No, it's just the kind of luck that follows the Rebel Bandit Mafia.  We roll like that.

Damn good times.
