General Banter / Tendonitis help
« on: April 21, 2009, 11:10:59 AM »
Hey all, I haven't been out very much at all in the last 4-5 months dealing with extreme pain in my throwing arm/shoulder, looks like it's mostly been tendonitis/inflamation.

Anyone deal with this at all, and how to come back to throwing 100%  I have been pain free for a couple/three weeks now but am hestiant to go throw, as the last time I did this it was 10x worse a few days later.

Any tips to build up an old guy's throwing arm?

Jeffrey

Will there be hole sponsors?  If so, I am interested in getting one, does anyone know who to ask?

Cheers,
Jeffrey

Is the format going to be during 2 days?  I had thought in the past, it was a 3 day event, no?

Hi everyone, I have made it to town finally and getting settled in.  I live close to the Water Works course.  I'm new here and have no contacts in the area.  If anyone is interested and will be around there, I'd love to be shown around the course a bit, play a couple of rounds and hang out and what not, im lawn friendly.  I could also get down to a few other course pretty easy from the looks of it, i live right off 435.

Cheers,
Jeffrey

Hi guys, I have gotten my apartment.  It's at a place called Bennington Ridge and I believe that Water Works park is only a few minutes away from me.  Looking very forward to playing there and the other big courses you guys got out there.  I am surrounded by smaller courses (Avg 250' hole or less) so the challenge of Water Works and it being so close by is hopefully going to do wonders for my game.

That won't take much, I'm an 840 rated Intermediate Am but that should go up, played in an A-tier event (Seneca) over the weekend and did an 880 round, a 935 round (best ive ever played) and a 860 round (long pro format, +35 in 27 holes, ouch).

I'll be there on July 12th, prolly be at the course the 13th or 14th :)

Thanks guys, I've been looking forward to this move for a while now, was supposed to do it last year but I couldn't secure an apartment.  I must say I'm psyched about Waterworks being the closest and we didn't plan it that way, we knew we'd be moving close to worlds of fun tho.

The Disc Golf out here in Northern Va (just outside DC) is pretty good, but not great.  Most of the courses are short (Think less than 225 average length) but there's a couple of pro level courses within reasonable driving distance, but when you drive in Northern Va, it takes you 4-5 times longer than you think to get there, that's one of the main reason we're leaving this area, besides every house costing $500,000 and up.

I might even make it out in time for the Sunburn open, but if I don't, there's a last PDGA (I'm # 31525) event I'll be playing before I go.

I'm a pretty new golfer, been doing it since last July but I totally love it and look forward to playing on more challenging courses and I'm sorry I can't get out there in time for the Wide-Open, but I'll be throwing in it next year!

General Banter / Re: What do you think of this Cubby guy?
« on: April 19, 2007, 01:37:59 PM »
He gets a lot of talk over here on the east coast.  There's some golfers even on PDGA's site that swear he's legit.  I'm pretty skeptical myself, I've seen a couple of his videos where they were obviously edited.  But really, to me it doesn't count unless you're playing a round and score it a ONE.  This guy just sits and throws at baskets again and again, yes they go in the basket in one shot but it's not an ace.

Thanks guys, I understand the area is a little old, but it's not ghetto is it?  My wife and I were reading up on the crime stats for the area, and we were a little surprised that it's even higher than areas around us.

Cheers,
Jeffrey

General Banter / I am moving to KC MO in July

Good day, I am moving from The Washington DC area to KC MO in July.  I am pretty certain on the apartment I want (Bennington Ridge in zip code 64117) and was wondering if you guys could give me a few tips on the area, what courses are close by.  I've done a lot of reading (playdg.com rocks) on the courses in Kc and I'm very excited about the Dg community there.

Many thanks,
Jeffrey
