General Banter / Kansas City Here I Come
« on: April 16, 2014, 02:52:52 PM »
It's been a while since I posted on the board, but after 3 years of living in Oklahoma City my wife and I are moving back to KC! I can't tell you how much I have missed the KCFDC  and Kansas City disc golf in general. Moving away makes you realize how good Disc Golfers have it in KC. I'm excited to get back to playing leagues, tournaments, volunteering and anything else I can do. We move back on April 30th and we'll be living less than a mile from both Olathe courses so I'm happy about that. Hopefully I will see you guys (especially the ThrOlatheans) at leagues soon.

I'll be at the finale! It would be fun to see some of my KC guys there. Sounds like it will be a great tournament. Although I know the kc championships will be great too. So good luck to all them too.

Is there still league tonight at Wyco? Or was it just for the doubles last week?

General Banter / Farewell KC
« on: June 15, 2011, 11:08:25 AM »
To my beloved KC disc golf community, Unfortunately I will no longer be a part of this amazing group. I have accepted a job in Oklahoma City and will be moving at the end of June. I just wanted to say thank you to all those who have made disc golf in KC such an important part of my life. I am forever hooked. I started playing about 5 years ago and now that I have gotten more involved and been able to see a bit of what other cities have to offer, it's clear that I have been very blessed to have lived and played in KC on all these wonderful courses. I'll be sure to come back and visit as often as possible. Hopefully I can continue to improve and eventually come back and compete with some of KC's best.
A special thanks to Tom Butler and all the Olathe crew, who have been a blast to play with almost every week the last 4 years. I learned a ton from playing with you guys.
If any of you comes down to Oklahoma City, hit me up to play a round. I will actually be living in Bethany which is just NW of OKC. I'm about 5 min from Dolese Youth Park disc golf course, which I am told is one of the best courses in that area. So I'm excited for that.

Again thanks to all those I had the pleasure of playing with and getting to know. I hope to at least make it out to a few more leagues before I leave. But if I don't see you there, hopefully I can catch you at a tournament during the year. God Bless you guys!

Ah, yeah I didn't see that one.  I was referring to Nate's short birdie put that prompted someone to sarcastically say "nice up" from the crowd.  There was an audible gasp from everyone else and Nate gave the guy the look of death.  I would have wanted to punch the guys lights out.

Not giving him an excuse, but I was there when that happened and the guy who said it is actually pretty good friends with Nate and Avery. Not that it is any excuse for him to say that, I wouldn't have liked hearing it if I were Nate. But I do think he was trying to joke with Nate, just a poor choice in timing. I don't think he meant it to get in his head or to be a jerk like he came off as.

Is the schedule on the first post of this thread the official schedule or have there been changes made? Could someone give a link to the finalized schedule with details? I gotta figure out when I can try and skip out of work to watch and where.

Is Arturo playing in this tournament? His name isn't on the list. I was gonna make him one of my fantasy disc golf picks. Anyone know?

So this Vibram clinic/demo is happening at the same time as the Pro's NT Clinic at Waterworks?

Anyone planning on going up to this tournament Saturday? I wouldn't mind catching a ride with someone who is going if possible.

Wow, those dyes are amazing. I am extremely curious how you do those so well. I have done a lot of dyes and even some multi colored ones, but none that are that crisp and detailed. What is your secret? I'd love to know the process you use to do these dyes.

Rosedale / Re: 2011 League on Wednesdays!
« on: May 07, 2011, 09:39:06 AM »
I guess my view is that I play Pro 2 because, on my best night, I would still have a hard time getting to the top of Pro 1. But I also had reached a point last year where I was consistently towards the top of Ams. Which I don't think is fair to the Ams for someone to keep playing am and winning. But I also don't think its fair to be pushed into a division that costs more that I don't have much chance at ever cashing. So Pro 2 is where I belong.

I like what Tom has been doing at PC combining Masters and Pro 2 so there are only 2 cash divisions and it increases the competition level.

There is a course in Frisco I played last summer. Pretty fun. It would have been way cooler, but tons of the trees have been destroyed. But it plays along the lake and is still fun to play with the mountains surrounding you.
