General Banter / GBO special beer!

For all those who are going to the GBO and enjoy a good beer, Dixon Jowers posted this on Facebook. "No beer in the players pack but Radius Brewing will be releasing the Glass Blown Ale in special co-branded glasses on Wednesday!"
I love how much the city of emporia gets into this! Can't wait!

Played BV yesterday while they were mowing. With the fresh cut it will be nice. Just wondering if anyone knows what the current course par is for COF with the new placements and set up? The new pins were fun to play so thanks to those working on this course.

So are courses in final tournament layout? I know BV has some changes. Does anyone have a map of how we will be playing it Saturday? I'm hoping to go out tomorrow morning and play the tournament layout. Just want to make sure I play the right thing.

Tournaments / Re: To those who create the tournaments.. a tiny request

My company (non-military) has issued some challenge coins over the years for several events.  I would love to see something of this nature...challenge coin, pin, dog tag, or even an iron-on patch for some of the larger tournaments.  I think collecting these would be fun.

Van

Love the patch idea Van. That would be cool. I think the buttons sound pretty cool too.

Would people have the option those nights whether they wanted their round to be PDGA rated or can they save a dollar and opt out. Just wondering if it would be mandatory or optional on those nights? I like the idea.

Haha Nate, that's assuming I can throw a straight line to the pin everytime. I'll probably be closer to at least 3.5 miles.  ;D :o

Scott I will be coming Saturday morning at 10. I can only stay for an hour and a half or two because I have a family event happening early that afternoon. I don't have any clippers but I've got gloves and maybe a small saw. Where do I go when I get to the park?

I totally understand your busy weekends. Are there any specific jobs you would be able to say need done that could be delegated to people who are wanting to help out? Stuff like brush clearing or maybe if you marked some small trees that need taken out. I really am not sure what still needs to be done but just wanted to try and help if possible. If you are going out on a week day and can post it a few days in advance I might be able to join you depending on my schedule. So feel free to ask for help if you need it. Thanks for all you are doing Scott!

Not sure yet if I can play. But PC, Swope, or Young sound fun.

I'm excited too! Scott would it be beneficial to plan a work day some Saturday when there isn't a tournament nearby? Or maybe a Sunday afternoon? I'm sure we could get some man power if we knew a week or two in advance.

Beginners / Re: PDGA Basket Rules, and Regulation s
« on: March 18, 2015, 05:29:21 pm »
This is a really good question. I wonder if it is similar to the ruling on a disc that is damaged? I will say that I can see how you would see it as being a bigger target, but from my experience if it is bent downward it can actually make it harder to catch depending on your putting style. I've had putts spit out because the basket portion was too low and didn't stop my disc when it bounced backward off the pole. Either way, I am curious how this is ruled. Good question. Hopefully someone has an answer on here.
