Jack has talked to me about basket.  I didn't say Jack sent me a message or Jacks posts were the selling point.  Jack has my backing on replacement baskets.  Actual face to face communication with an active board member will get you a lot further than being a keyboard commando.

Well, it's comforting to hear that Jack can get his way in face-to-face communications, too.

Quite frankly I wish this thread would go away.  It's like getting poison ivy out on the course.  You would so dearly love for it to stop itching, but the itch WON'T STOP.

I agree that there isn't much point for this thread to continue. Jack has made his position pretty clear: there is no need to have a discussion about the club members' consensus regarding the best baskets, teepads, or any other feature of a course. Why? Because we aren't the ones designing the courses or working with the P&R departments, so our voices will not be heard. Jack, through his years of tireless and generous service, has earned the right to make these decisions without the blessing of the BoD, or even less significantly, a bunch of yahoos on their keyboards. So everyone, please just shut up and let Jack carry on with the business of running Kansas City Disc Golf.

The above comments are not in line with the intent of my post - just so we're clear.

Bottom line is, if you want something to change, do something about it.  Go to a club meeting and bring up the topic.  This forum is just that, a forum.  Posting here will not get you anywhere.  If there are things that you do not agree with or if there are items that you want clarification on, ask the board of directors.  This ball (if there is indeed a ball and not just pointless ranting) won't get rolling unless you bring it up somewhere aside from here.

I would attend a meeting--or, shoot--even position myself for a run at a board position. But Jack's dismissive comments make pretty clear the fact that none of that would have the slightest impact on the issues I care about.

Jack is King. We must all pay homage.

Can we all please do our best to be kind with our words on this forum.  A heated topic is wonderful and welcome but pointing fingers, name calling and taunting on all sides is uncool.

I'd love to have a heated discussion about the actual topic, but Jack's constant misdirection and bullying don't allow for that.

Given how much effort Jack expends to avoid a civil discussion on this topic--a topic that has objective factors that aren't mere "opinion"--I sometimes have to wonder exactly how much juice he gets on the side for each course he installs with DGA baskets.

You're willing to write 10,000 words about why you don't have to answer the question instead of just writing one paragraph about the objective reasons why you recommend Mach IIIs to P&R departments (something about the baskets themselves, and not baloney about DGA's "determination to see the sport succeed".)

Just smells fishy to me.

Anyone want to take bets that Jack's response to this post will focus on my lack of experience and laziness, and won't address the issue at all? That seems to be his go-to strategy.

Hey, thanks for the info. I have a wedding to be at by 6:00 and I'm trying to convince myself it could work. Sounds like it's not a good idea. Thanks again, drew.

About what time are you thinking second round would start? Twoish? Any chance we would be done by 5?

The entire sidebar about "complaining" is absurd. Maybe if someone had said "I really wanted to play this tournament, how could you do this to me?!" we'd have something to discuss. As it is, all we have is a lighthearted comment from a chiefs fan.

I'm just north of forest park, but I'll give you a shout when this heat dissipates somewhat.

Why would anyone within a 300 mile radius dare to compete with jack lowe's birthday? Foolish.

As for the actual point of this thread, sounds cool, steve. I'm in st Louis now, how much does it cost? I've only played Jeff barracks so far, but I've been planning on getting out to endicott.

Is league still happening? Will it be some silly doubles something-or-other? Probably.
