Found and Lost / Found a buzz at hole 17 SMP
« on: September 16, 2015, 01:10:25 pm »
I found a bar stamped buzz on Hole 17.  I found it way off to the right of the fairway.  If you lost it please identify the disc and I'll get it back to you.

Tournaments / 2015 KC Corporate Challenge
« on: March 30, 2015, 09:27:15 am »
A lot of companies are having tryouts in the next couple weeks.  My buddies company has 14 guys competing in a tryout!  I think its a testimony to how well the sport continues to grow in our area.

I played Swope yesterday and it was set fairly short.  Is it currently set in the corporate challenge pin settings?  What about pads?  Are women going to play short pads and men play longer pads?

Thanks in advance!

The video is up!

Hope you enjoy it.

Ain't nothin but a squirrel party.  We will be posting the videos here:

There should be some great disc golf to watch this weekend.

Phil Ellis and I are going to work together to put some videos together for the Kan-u-Wyco and Rosedale Open.  He will be doing the filming and I offered to take on the editing.

Are the tee sign source images available for these two course to be used in video?  I am not sure who retains rights to these images, most likely the club?  If these source images aren't available I might try and cut up these images:

Hebenheimer has a signature Fedora inspired look.

A lot of people have problems adjusting to the pace of play.  It obviously slows way down for tournaments.  There can be other distractions, like over thinking the rules (who is out, foot placements, etc).  Once these things become second nature you can relax and just focus on your game.

The weekly leagues / mini tournaments really helped me get comfortable with the tournament feel and get to a point where I could just play.

I used Cyberlink Power Director 13.

You can download a fully functional trial for 30 days.  I went ahead and purchased it on Amazon for around 50 or 60.

It helps to have a computer with a SSD and a decent video card.  I also used Audacity (open source yay) to split the song into 6 second chunks.

It can be pretty tedious to do the edit, especially the first time.  Once you learn some keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + Alt + T brings up the Trim Tool) and other tricks it gets a lot easier.  We still need to do a better job cleaning up focus / camera angles (don't film behind a tee sign lol).  We are certainly still very very amateur, but are improving a little.

You were out filming as well right?  I would love to see some of the shots you got.  If you wanted more help feel free to contact me on Facebook or something.  It seems like you and I both share the same passion for trying to promote the sport / local scene.

Here is the video my daughter recorded for those bored at work today:

Here is some video of the lead card Final 9.

The coverage starts out rough (lighting, focusing issues) but it gets a little better towards the end.  The card was moving very fast and filming down under is not an easy thing to do.  My 13 year old did her best!
