Tavish, congrats on the win and sorry for not getting your score in there the first time!  On a sad note the Fuzzy has been broken down for the season and like the Phoenix will surely return next year.  On a bright note Running Horse and Dogwood should be back online this weekend.

Thanks everyone that made the 2011 edition of the Fuzzy Pony so special.  I hope to have the group picture in the mail to everyone by the end of next week.

Just got word that one of the dogs the Humane Society brought out to the Fuzzy, Daisey, has been adopted!  For those of you that didn't get a chance to meet Daisey she was the medium sized all black Shepard mix and a real love.  My personal favorite, Henry, just had his photo in the Lawrence Journal World and unfortunately is still looking for a good home.  If you know of anyone that is looking for a wonderful new family memenber, please keep Henry in mind! http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17092420

Oh ya, I have the scores all typed in and hope to get them on the website and posted here tonight!

Thanks again for all the support and free beer next year to the person that helps find Henry a new home!

General Banter / Re: Disc Golf Chain

I know this is not what you asked about but thought you might like to know...... I upgraded the chain on 12 Lightning baskets and the best price I found on chain was $.70 a foot at Cummins Tools.  I had to dicker a bit, but well worth it.  They had lots of sizes to choose from and cost about 70% less then full price stores.

Just played my first post Fuzzy round and guess what I found on the course?

Absolutely nothing....not one cigarette butt, beer cup.....not one single piece of litter!

You guys are the best!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  Events like this are only as good as the people to make the effort to attend.

Dan,
Thanks for the kind words and the great pictures.  Hopefully you can play next year.

Thank you to everyone that attended the Fuzzy Pony 2011 soiree!  Wonderful people, amazing weather and a nice breeze to make the course just a little more challenging.  This years Pony raised $3161.71 for the Lawrence Humane Society.  The generosity of the disc community once again has shown to be very very large.  I will be taking a short sabbatical until the last of the porter is drained from the sole surviving keg at which point I will rejoin society, post the final results and the pictures.

Thanks again!

Dave Wismer

P.S.  Otto, you won the drawing for the free pony!  You must be very excited. Congrats!

General Banter / Re: Do you use a pre-throw routine?

So at the end of the day, on the back of all my discs is written:

1. Plan
2. Vision (Visualize the shot)
3. Grip
4. Aim
5. Rip

Yes, I am aware that I have issues.

General Banter / Do you use a pre-throw routine?
« on: September 08, 2010, 06:40:03 AM »
I have noticed that toward the end of the second round in tournament play I give away too many strokes.  To try and limit this I am thinking of using a pre-throw routine to try and increase my focus on every throw in the hope that it will pay extra when I am most mentally tired.  Do you use a pre-throw routine and if so what are the steps?

Thanks,

Dave
