Tracy, does that mean that if we play fast and quit jamming that you will start playing again.  ;D
No, my days of tourney disc golf are done.

Don't forget us up at USM. Tuesdays during DST we'll be having fun.

And why is "Grow the sport" the singular mindset these days? It benefits manufacturers and retailers but how does growing the sport benefit the player? I'm not saying it isn't a good thing. I'm sincerely asking why "Grow the sport" floats to the top in all disc golf conversations these days. KC has over 30 courses within an hour of down town. Most events that take place end up having to turn people away. How much more does the sport need to grow before the focus can be placed elsewhere. Like refine the sport, improve the courses... etc...

Add to this Riverview Park in Platte City. If you are up north that is a great little 9 hole course for beginners. Very short holes and compact area. Several fairly technical but short holes too.

I agree that mastering the midrange first is a good idea. Start with one or two discs until you are confident that you know what they do, a midrange and a putter. Then work the driver into your game. If you have joint issues then I would recommend that for at least your driver you go very light. Try light Blizzard or Starlite plastic from Innova or something similar from other manufacturers. The lighter weights will be easier on your joints and require less effort to get distance. Don't be afraid to go real light, in Blizzard plastic under 140 grams will float on water too. Something like a Starlite Valkyrie or Blizzard Katana take little effort to get good distance. But beware, throw them too hard and they flip easily.

Zeke won't be out of town now after all, thus I lose a captain's pick.  I maxed out the team since the interest was so high to play.  Matt Perry and Jose Ossa are my last two captain's pick.  Thanks for everyone who came out, tried out, practiced with us, and played the qualifiers. It was a difficult decision.  There were probably another 5 players that I could have easily put on the team.

Ace #5 for me last night at USM league. Hit #10 with a Moon Glow Claymore. About 180' downhill through the trees with a pond directly behind it. Had I missed I'd likely have been all wet....

The ace fund is now down to $126.

Thanks for the update. I hope she mends well and quickly. Broken hips can be pretty serious. Glad to know Max is out of the hospital. Don't want to be there very long if you can help it.

Summer Leagues / Re: 2017 Summer League Schedule
« on: April 03, 2017, 08:06:49 AM »
Just curious.  It shows SMP league on Tuesday, then switching to Monday.  Is that a mistake?

Yes, that is incorrect. I hadn't noticed that before. SMP and Swope leagues are both on Tuesdays all season. The first week is correct but subsequent weeks show Monday. We will get that fixed.

Ok, so does that mean there is nothing going on during the week as of right now?

USM ace fund league on Tuesday at 5:30 is happening. Official KCFDC leagues will be starting up the first week of April. Wednesday traveling league is going already too. The thread for it is here: http://kcfdc.org/forum/index.php?topic=13141.0
