Good luck on the fundraiser. Even if I was officially invited I would not be able to go. There's some property near the tournament with house  that is for sale. Used originally as rock quarry and has several levels to it with plenty of trees. 20 acres. 1528 North 500 Road Baldwin, Kansas. I have been prospecting this place for 6 years drooling over the thought of a course on this property. I even had a name picked out but that included current owner's last name. Not sure on asking price. I'm sure its not cheap.
I have onwer's name and # for anyone interested.

I found out its priced right. ONLY $320,000. A very well kept house and 2 nice outbuildings plus small pond. If interested this is a MUST SEE location for a very nice disc golf course and very close to the Fuzzy Pony course. If you like deer hunting this place is perfect for that too.Contact me for owner info. Owner is moving to Texas.

6/23 is a Sunday.  Is that the right date?

Do we NOT have tournaments on Sunday?  It's not like the tournament is scheduled for a Monday.

It might be that getting chuchified is more important to that individual.

It is an event that the TD decides how to play it, and shouldn't be based on fodder in a forum.

It takes our entire community to make this event work, and we need your help.  Just because my name is listed as the TD, it doesn't mean that I can do it all.  I want/need your input, and would love to have it.

So can we not give idea's that we think might help the tournament?

Having an idea one thinks is good = good idea
Having an idea one thinks is good plus someone listens and uses it = priceless

General Banter / New disc golf park grand opening June 22

Rose Park is having a grand opening June 22. The park is located in McLouth, Ks. McLouth is located on Hi. 16. Turn North on Union. Then West on Gertrude. Just after getting on a gravel road the parking for the course is the first left. The tee signs are at the rear of the tee area and currently has a 9 hole set up but already looking to expand to make a full 18. Don't forget the tick spray for out here. The parks department is giving full support and offering a free cook out with volunteers demonstrating the sport. I believe DD is also going to be a part of this. One of the kids I met last night just happens to be related to the Eklunds. He's a darn good player already and I think ready for tournament play. I would consider the course to be very challenging for a beginner. Your participation to help grow the sport will be greatly appreciated.
 They formed a disc golf club for the school called Disc Dogs or Dawgs not sure of their spelling. They are looking to be the first school in Kansas to form a disc golf team and ask other schools to form teams to compete with. They are getting solid response from the community and schools they are contacting. The gentleman responsible for creating all this interest is Greg Justice. I would like seeing the club offer him a plaque showing our gratitude for helping grow the sport we love so dearly.
More details to come.

Greg Justice is the high school coach in McLouth putting together a disc golf team. He was wanting a demo put on May 15th at 4:30pm. I am going to attend but was hoping for a pro player to help. I asked a couple guys but one is having scheduling problems and the other cannot do it that day. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Where do you store your discs? I quit keeping them in the  car trunk or on the  car floorboard. I keep mine indoors now.

I talked with the coach and he would greatly appreciate any disc donations. He said he mainly needed putters but will accept drivers and mid range too.

I had better than expected traffic. I had some discs and a bag for sale and a lady asked me about them. Then she said there was a course by McLouth High School and the coach was looking to form a team. Pretty cool news I thought. I'm waiting to hear from the coach to see if I can help by donating some discs and sell him some at discount and my time to help teach techniques.
