KC Team Challenge will take place on June 24th-25th this year.
Saturday 24th - West side hosts Best shot doubles (course TBD)
Sunday 25th - East hosts Alt shot doubles & Singles (course/s TBD)

Most likely this year there will be 16 Men & 2 Women on the team, with 4 Alternates of either sex.  18 total Qualified players and 4 Captain's Picks

First 2 West side qualifiers
Top 2 scores from
Kan-U-Wyco  &
Top 2 scores from
Rosedale Open

As Spring leagues get going I will announce a variety of other Qualifiers. But keep in mind the KCWO will definitely be another Qualifier, and not certain yet, but most likely the Women's Disc golf Weekend/event will be the Women's Qualifier.

More details to come as the days get longer.

Tournaments / Kansas City Team Challenge 2017 - June 24-25
« on: February 20, 2017, 08:08:29 AM »
So Eric Eastwood has thrown in to be Captain of the East Side this year, and I am willing to continue to lead the West to victory again, as long as there are no objections.

Eastwood and I will work well together to solve any problems and come up with a plan early this year, so everyone knows the format, courses, qualifiers, shirts ordered, times, etc.
We also talked about having home and away jerseys this year, so Missouri doesn't have to wear their hot black shirts both days.  So be prepared to spend $40 on shirts this year, unless you have one, than it will only be $20.
Missouri's second color will be a White or Gray, and Kansas will take vice versa.

And do not fret ladies, if there is enough interest on both sides of the line this year(at least 4 competing ladies on each side)(so start recruiting), we will add 2 spots to each team, making 16 men spots, 2 women, plus 1 alternate woman, and 4 Alternate Captain's picks.

Discuss, and if there are no objections we will start working on setting some dates for qualifiers.

Time change: 6:30 start
Bored since daylight savings kicked in?  Me too.  Since Harmon is so close to my home I have convinced the wife to get Wednesday night's free.  If you have not played this 9-holer, it is a fun little track with some sweet ace-runs, easy 2's, and a few hard 2's.

I will be out there at 6:15 this coming Wednesday, November 18th for a 6:30 startRandom draw doubles this first week.  We will mix it up each week.  But you will always know ahead of time what we are playing.  Also, I will be bringing an extra basket to create a mystery 10th hole every week.  We will play 2 rounds of 10 for a total of 20 holes.  $5 + $1 for ace fund.  Meet in shelter to the east of hole 2.  Bring your own lights, found at DD or DGW.

If you partake in extracurriculars, do so on your own time.  This course is right next to the PV police station.

Hope to see you all next Wednesday.

Attn: Disc golf Dog Lovers

Our fellow friend and thrower Dick Parker's dog Duma is really sick and has required a very expensive surgery to remove a cancerous mass in his mid section.  If you have a few extra bucks lying around please support Duma's fund to help Our friends Dick and Kate out.

If you can't, give a dog a hug.

General Banter / West Side Team Page (2016 Qualifier announcement)
« on: February 06, 2015, 09:35:40 AM »

Want to get some dates set-up early, so there is not so much last minute hustling.

The Team Challenge will be the weekend of June 6/7.  So if you can't play that weekend, don't worry about reading anything else.

16 players + 4 alternates on the team.

First 6 spots will be given to the Lowest 6 scores at the Rosedale Cup, March 14th/15th.

Next 6 spots will be given to Lowest scores at one chosen Kansas league in April

Last 4 spots given at a last chance Qualifier, open to all west side participants.  But will be played in Match-play format.  Names drawn from hat and put into Bracket.  9-hole Matches.  Winners move on until there remain only 4.  Course TBD.  I would like to do this in May, but most of the weekends are taken up.

So I need some feedback....We can either do this match-play qualifier on Sunday the 17th of May, a day after Paradise Diamond.  Or, I think we could pull it off on a weeknight.  As long as everybody that wanted in got signed up early, I could have the bracket made up, and we could tee off at 6 and finish before dark.

Last 4 Spots are Captain's picks, including myself if I do not qualify beforehand.  And yes Lee, I do believe some delicious lunch just may buy your way in  ;)  But play your way in first!

If anyone on this great side of the border has any ideas or comments on anything, please speak up!  The rest of you LEast-siders,  p!ss off.

Let us get this 3-peat Championship Train rolling!!!
