Barter Town / Looking for...
« on: August 06, 2015, 08:54:03 PM »
A 2013 City of Fountains White World. I will trade...Cash? Beer? I might have a disc you use, but being a flick player I doubt I have much. I checked at our local Disc Golf establishments today for one and they have none left. Maybe Scott knows where I could find one, or Jack, or somebody? I really loved my COF World and since it has been eaten by the wild Olatheans at PC I would really like to find a replacement or two. Yes I have other Worlds...but this one/type is my fav. Please and thanks for any help.

I lost my 175g Grape Champion Ape left on Hole #4. Hit the left tree in the gap, I think it kept going but dove farther left into the tall grass? 2 ice cold beers for it's return.

Hey Chucked my 2013 COF World on #15 PC (pin is short right) and have no clue where it went (left in the tall grass somewhere?).

If you find it I would appreciate it's return, If you have one and don't use it, I might want to purchase it off of you. It had the multi color, silver dollar size stamp on the top near the edge. Let me know. I do like the white although i think there were different colors given out that day.

Prairie Center / Tree on #14
« on: October 14, 2014, 03:16:04 PM »
Hey just a heads up, the tree that is to the left of #14 (big boy near the pond), a section of it has come off and lodged itself onto the hedge tree next to the basket. BE VERY AWARE when you are heading toward the basket, it would be wise to contact Olathe P&R and let them know. It is large enough to crush a tank, let alone a small little flicker like myself. I sent an email, but if someone has a direct contact it is a safety issue.

Found and Lost / Lost - #13 PC - Full Weight Orange Champ Boss

I lost my Boss at PC tonight left #13 in the wall of thorny hell just beyond the small tree on the left. If anyone with Kevlar decides to go geocaching over there, and finds it, I will owe you an ice cold brew. No need to return, just take a pick, sign it, and mark it on the GPS site.

General Banter / Buffalo Ridge Park
« on: February 17, 2014, 08:30:13 PM »
So I'm back from my yearly visit to my parents in Phoenix and played Buffalo Ridge Park. (if you remember last time I played Fountain Hills). What a beautiful backdrop to a disc golf course. I met some locals, most who qualify for the masters division (maybe Grand Masters but i didn't ask), and a younger man who had an arm like a cannon. I was instantly noticed and asked to join their group when the Rosedale Am t-shirt i was sporting was spotted (and the KU hat, but some of you might geer to that). I am awful with names but a couple of the vets said they had come out to play the Wide Open a few times, one was an ex KU pat who was as big as a bear, tossed a disc a mile, and had the accuracy to boot. The course in my opinion was not hard but the main threat was elevation changes which on one hole made you feel like a god, and the next like a weenie. I took most of my pars, one bird and 6 Bogeys to finish at +5 which i though was respectable. It was a wonderful course over all, although I appreciate the technical difficulty of FH, I will say that Buffalo made great use of the terrain and landscape and you could say that there was an added benefit of actual hiking involved. I will post a few pic's when I can, but would highly recommend this course to anyone heading out that way.

General Banter / Headed to Orlando
« on: January 20, 2014, 07:42:56 PM »
I know some of you are international men and women of mystery... so does anyone have any recommendations on which courses to play while I am at a conference in Orlando? I have a feeling my ride situation will be limited, but I have taken public transportation while in some of the biggest cities in the US, and in some of the not so nice neighborhoods, so i have no fear of riding with anyone (minus hitchhiking). I heard Jeff O was down there for a tourney so i am interested in his response as well....

ALSO I am going back to Arizona shortly after this trip, and I loved the Memorial but will be trying out some of the other courses you had suggested in the post a year's back. Thanks for the local input in advance!

General Banter / 30 foot lights
« on: November 13, 2013, 11:24:23 AM »
My course that I work at has twenty one 30' lights that used to be in our old parking lot. We held onto them for about 5 or so years because we had thought about building a putt putt course on the corner of our property which never materialized. I am posting this here, because I thought what an awesome idea it would be to have a lighted course somewhere in the KC Metro. Yes it is a wild idea, maybe not economically feasible because of the concrete and wire that would need to be ran, but still an idea. My best thought would be on a 9 hole course (short) like little Blue Valley, or the first 9 of a course that isn't exceptionally hard like PC. The thing is i am not sure we can just give these away. It would have to go to "An organization" and we will not be responsible for the handling or shipping of these. I'm sure they would scrap for a decent price too so it would have to be a well organized thought with financial backing that has a purpose, not just to take to the scrap yard and reap the benefits. So for you course designers, Parks and Rec big hitters, and leaders of our awesome Disc community this is just one of those opportunities that you might want to consider. If seriously interested please DM me and i will get in contact with you. Thanks and let me know if i can provide any further information.

Cliff Drive / Great Course!
« on: October 24, 2013, 10:03:07 PM »
Hey im sure the P & R for the city takes care of this course but I just wanted to say what an awesome course this is. I played here for my first time in prep for City of Fountains and this course has some of the most beautiful scenery incorperated & throughout the course it's amazing. From the super huge old tree on 15 (i think, the one with the basket underneath and behind it), to the city scape of the old AT&T building, The obvious huge cliff with holes incorperated, hell even the graffiti in the old reservor is some pretty cool stuff. Like others have said before we truely take for granted what awesome courses we have in KC, but this one is definitly one of my new fav's. Thanks to those who take care of it full time, part time, and sometimes.

Prairie Center / Pin movement
« on: June 28, 2013, 10:18:01 PM »
I love you guys, so don't take this the wrong way, because i just played a horrific round, but can we get the pin's moved out at PC? They have been in the same positions since late May. Now that I live 2 minutes from the course I have played there about 10-15 times in the last 5 weeks and I would like to lose my disc's on other parts of the course. I do appreciate the work that is done to maintain the course, and let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Found and Lost / Bad PC Round
« on: June 28, 2013, 10:11:43 PM »
After a good layup drive on #13 I flick jerked my beloved orange and black misprint DD stamped Boss into the creek about 1/2 way from the bend to the left basket. I didn't have my scuba gear and machete to go get it, so the brave soul who wants to grab it I will either give you a crisp $10 bill or a 6er of your choice.

I also flick jerked my other standard orange blizzard boss in the Shhh on the left of #14 and couldnt find it as well (before the treeline). That one isn't as dear to me, but as you can tell this round wasn't going my way

My next shot on #14 landed my Ape in a tree that took me 15 minutes and one stuck putter to get down, and after yanking 8 ticks off of me I think im going to ice my shoulder and go to bed.

Found and Lost / Lost - Tye Dye TeeBird
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:49:23 PM »
I was playing With Harold and the boys this morning at Rosy. I believe it was #9 in long position. I grip locked it to the right, threw a nice reverse spike right at the edge of the woods next to the basket, and it was gone. I walked all of that treacherous hill from the top to the DU hole and I couldnt find it. Name and Number are on it, but if you find it and feel that you want to keep it thats cool too.
