Found and Lost / Found set of keys
« on: May 20, 2011, 09:04:16 AM »
I got a message from Sara Nicholson at PDGA headquarters. Someone here in town (I have a name and contact number) called PDGA headquarters and said they had found a set of keys somewhere near UMKC. Apparently they are a rather extensive set of keys (lots of keys), and they have PDGA key chain tags (the kind you get in your membership packages) from 2008-2010 on the key ring. If anyone lost a set like this, give me a call, and we'll see if we can't get you and your keys reacquainted. This guy went to a lot of trouble and research to try and get these keys back to the proper owner, so hopefully his hard work will pay off.

UPDATE: The keys have a Petsmart customer tag and a Dick's Sporting Goods tag on them. The car keys are General Motors keys. There may be a beeper or home alarm or car alarm remote on the key chain. There is also is a large number of keys...home keys and apparently work keys. Someone is not loving life right now without these keys.

Barter Town / OK, it's not DG equipment exactly......
« on: April 29, 2011, 01:34:23 AM »
I'm looking to sell my 2005 Toyota Prius. Tideland Pearl in color (greyish-green is the best description). It has 129,000 miles on it, and it's in pretty good shape. Gets VERY good gas mileage (45-50 mpg depending on how heavy your foot is), important in this day and age of nearly $4.00/gallon gas.  I'm looking for about $9500. Serious offers only, please. It's been a great car, but I can't use it anymore (literally).  I'll post a picture here in a few days or so, maybe sooner. I haven't posted anywhere else yet....thought I'd give the DG community first shot at it.

General Banter / Who in here does drywall?
« on: July 05, 2010, 01:50:30 PM »
I need some drywall done for my kitchen.  Just got done ripping off loads of hideous 1970s wood paneling that had about 4 layers of wallpaper on them. Yuck. I would do it myself, but, alas, I am a drywall novice/idiot.  Who does this sort of thing in the club professionally (or on the side, or whatever?)

I'll check the board and my private messagse, but feel free to call me or email me as well. Info is below.

Tournaments / Ball Golf/Disc Golf Challenge!!!
« on: August 14, 2009, 10:34:26 AM »
Brian Gammon is going to instigate a ball golf/disc golf challenge on Sunday, August 23.  The format is a little in the air as yet, I think probably skins or doubles would be most appropriate, I think we'll probably do doubles.

August 23 around 9:00AM will be the ball golf part at Sunflower Hills, which is the ball golf course right next to Wyco.  Then we'll play a round of disc golf at Wyco. The starting time for golf is as yet undetermined, as we have to get tee times yet, and we need to see what's available.  It may be that we do the disc golf first, if we can't get ball golf tee times in the morning.  Be flexible! :)

Anyway, we're gonna take the first 12 people that are interested and willing to plunk down the $$$.  $35 is the entry fee, most of which is going into green fees for Sunflower Hills. Carts will be used for the ball golf round, although I don't think they'll let us take them across the street for disc golf. :)  If this works out, we may try it again at Swope later in the fall.

We have 8 spots left:

Brian Gammon
Chappy
Ted
Brian Gammon's friend from work

are in.

Jack and Otto are probables.

Course directors, course coordinators, or whomever might have receipts from Worlds or Worlds workdays:

I NEED YOUR RECEIPTS NOW!!!!

I cannot do an accurate accounting for the event if receipts come in late.  Please turn in your receipts now.  Do not turn them in 3 weeks or more, else you risk not getting reimbursed.

Thanks,

Tournaments / Missouri State Rep for USDGC standings
« on: June 06, 2009, 04:40:03 PM »
The Missouri representation for the USDGC is going to the Missouri resident who has the best average round rating for their best 8 rounds in Missouri tournaments.  (The Kansas City Wide Open is considered a Missouri tournament for these purposes, even though 2 of the rounds were played in Kansas. The Kan-U-Wyco tourney does NOT count for this.) George Smith and Nikko Locastro have already via other venues, so Fred Smith is the current leader. You MUST have 8 rounds in the Open divisions in these events to qualify:

Anyone with at least 4 rounds played already could still qualify if they played in the Mid-America Open (4 rounds in Columbia would give them at least 8 rounds total) The representative will be announced after the Mid-America Open.  I will include Worlds in next year's qualification, as Worlds happens too late this year, as we have to name the rep before August 1.
