General Banter / Sarah Hokom
« on: August 08, 2015, 03:07:24 PM »
Man, what a tear jerker.  If you have any heart, what happened to Sarah Hokom today is terrible, she would have won that title with no problem.  After a terrible accident on the way to the course, she showed up and missed 2 holes carding a 7 on each and ended up losing the title by a single stroke.  Absolutely terrible.  I don't know what to say.

Hey Tom:

Michele and I were working on #12 today dethorning the Honey Locust trees.  Just wanted to give you a a heads up.  I don't have your cell number.

If you would like for me to fell that initial tree on 13, I can do it.  ;-)

This is the 3rd Annual.  Has anyone ever played this tournament?  Thinking about making the trip.

Can anybody point me to an updated course map for Bad Rock Creek DGC?  I can't seem to find one.  Thanks!

General Banter / Always check your shoes
« on: July 02, 2014, 09:09:15 AM »
Just saw this on this morning:

HAYSVILLE, Kan. (AP) - A Kansas teenager is recovering at home after spending three days in intensive care recovering from a scorpion sting.

Fifteen-year-old Parker Hartley of Haysville was bitten Friday after he played Frisbee Golf at a park in Haysville, while he was barefoot. He put on his shoes after the game and felt a sharp sting and instant pain.

KAKE-TV reports Hartley's parents at first thought he had been stung by a bee or wasp. But within 24 hours, his foot had swollen and Hartley said the pain was unbearable.  A nurse at Wesley's emergency room recognized the sting and he was hospitalized.

Experts say scorpions hide in dark places, so check your shoes if they've been outside, or in sheds.

Found and Lost / Lost: Lakeside #16
« on: August 05, 2013, 05:05:59 PM »
I lost a red 165 Tern on #16 at Lakeside on Sunday morning.  Second Tern I've lost.  Ugh.  If anybody finds it, I would appreciate having it back and will provide a 6 pack of your choice.  It was left past the first couple trees on the left.

Has my name and number on it.

Does anyone use the Latitude 64 Pure to putt?  If so, what does it compare to?  Just curious.

Cliff Drive / Of Ticks and Trash
« on: June 26, 2013, 01:56:32 PM »
Having launched my go-to Destroyer down the cliff left on my second shot on #17 Sunday, I decided to venture down the cliff in the hopes that by some slim chance it was lying around on the ground.  Well, I never found my disc but saw plenty of beer bottles, the majority of which were Heineken.  Also, much to my amazement, I did not have a single tick on me.  So, there are 2 advantages Cliff has over Tickland in Olathe:

1)  Ticks don't exist in NE Kansas City and
2)  They enjoy good beer in Kessler Park

Jack, you should be proud.   8)

Prairie Center / What happened to the sign?
« on: January 02, 2013, 07:59:15 PM »
It might have been gone for some time but I just noticed that the sign for the disc golf course is gone?  This is the sign that is right along the road on Hole #6.  Anybody know what happened to it?

Cliff Drive / Cliff Drive Randomness

So I'm playing the short basket on Hole #11 last weekend and notice lying on the ground next to the basket was the lower part of a severed goat's leg.  I decided to pass on the goats leg soup.

Anybody else notice that?

General Banter / Anybody try a Blizzard Ape?

I'm curious if you can throw these directly into the wind and they will still stay on a hyzer route.

Old Pike / Hours?
« on: April 17, 2012, 11:33:50 AM »
OK, with all the discussion on Old Pike, seems like I have to check it out.  Is this a course I can just swing by on a Saturday morning and play or what or do I have to request permission?

Smithville / #3 on Woodhenge
« on: March 26, 2012, 10:25:34 AM »
Was out at Smithville to play for the first time over the weekend and noticed that the basket for #3 on Woodhenge was missing.  Anybody know what happened to it?

Prairie Center / New pad on #15?
« on: March 05, 2012, 09:43:27 AM »
I haven't seen it but someone just texted me and said there is a new tee pad on #15.  Can someone provide details?  Is it a new pad to the left of the evergreen tree or was the old pad just moved?
