USM Ace Fund League will be happening this evening - 6/21/16.
We will be celebrating the life of Patrick 'Stally" Stallbaumer. Those who knew him know that he was relatively new to disc golf but he loved it and played with us at USM and elsewhere as often as possible. He even made the trip down to Emporia for a very windy GBO a few years back. He brought up the rear in his division but had a great time doing so.
Stally passed away Sunday after a brief fight with cancer. He passed on the same day the KCFDC lost one of its most beloved and best disc golfers, Todd Henry. I know most will be headed to Swope tonight to celebrate Todd's life and contribution to disc golf in KC but for those who can't make it in there and to those who knew Stally and would like to celebrate with us please feel free to join us. We will most certainly be sharing stories about both Stally and Todd as we get in a fun round of 18 at USM this evening.
It's a sad week for disc golf in KC.... But rather than be sad, let's lift up those who we lost in celebration of what they did for us in life.
An abnormally high volume of lost and found gear came in after the Wide Open this year. Likely due to the confusion caused by all that rain. If you lost a stool, umbrella, towel or disc(s) or anything else, check there. I suspect it will be opened Tuesday and Patrick plans to be out there today.
IT'S OFFICIAL! There will be a major work day at Clover Dell park on Saturday March 5th (rain date Saturday March 12th). Sedalia Boy Scout Troop 61 will be out in force to help us remove cedar trees from the front nine to make it as playable and enjoyable as it should be. There are other projects in mind pending discussions with the parks department. We'd like to see as many folks out as possible to make quick work of this and get as much accomplished as possible. Chainsaws and other tools along with trailers for hauling trees will be useful but able bodies are the most important thing.
Clover Dell is way overdue for some love Let's give her some!
I seemed to have either left my metal mini behind or had it fall out of my bag somewhere while playing Cliff Drive yesterday. I had it for sure on #12 and noticed it gone before putting on #17. It was getting too dark when we noticed it missing to look much for it. It's a heavy aluminum mini, plain silver with the MaceMan jester logo engraved on it. It's pretty much one of a kind so if you see anything like it anywhere it's likely mine. With the tourney this Saturday I'm hoping some honest soul will find it and make sure it gets back to me. I've had it in my bag 12 years so I miss it already. Thanks.
