General Banter / KanJam
« on: December 03, 2010, 02:18:48 PM »
Heard about this on a message board and looked it up.  Thought it looked like a lot of fun.  Bought it online got it and have had a lot of fun playing around/practicing because I haven't had the time to get a group together and play because of work.  But check it out and it might be something that Rick might be able to sell.

If anyone would be interested in play need 4 people to play just PM me and maybe we can get something together.

Have a good one

Tournaments / 2010 Ace Race?
« on: July 30, 2010, 04:54:28 PM »
Couldn't find a thread, but is this in the workings?  Had a blast last year, hoping to see it again.  Would be willing to do my best in helping out, run a small business that takes up a lot of time, but could do something to help I'm sure.

Thanks

Legacy Park - Lee's Summit / Legacy Park Disc Golf Survey
« on: January 16, 2010, 02:11:16 PM »
They are now officially asking.  Picked up a survey form by the first tee pad.

"We would appreciate your comments on our course.  Please respond to the questions below and ....email us your response to Steve.Casey@cityofls.net

1. What comments would you make regarding the design and layout of the course?
2. What comments would you make regarding the maintenance of the course?
3. Would you support or assist a volunteer course coordinating committee?
4. What comments would you make regarding the operations of the course?
5. Are there specific rules or guidelines for play at this particular facility that should be considered?
6. Additional comments concerning the course or Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation."

It sounds like they are interested in having a better ran course.  But I do believe that if they were willing to have a working relationship with the KCFDC they could get most of this done by volunteers.  I know I am new to the club and community but I believe honest, constructive criticism could make this possible.  They seem to be inquiring to find out our commitment to the course.

General Banter / Bag Tag Challenge
« on: October 30, 2009, 08:07:12 AM »
As a newbie to the club, could someone give me a good explanation of the bag tag challenge?  I think I have an idea of what it is, but would like to know for sure.

Thanks

Legacy Park - Lee's Summit / Legacy in the fall
« on: October 08, 2009, 02:40:07 PM »
Went and played back nine at Legacy last night.  The course is mowed and looking good.  This course should be considerable better in fall and winter months.  Throw some slightly off target drives and didn't spend the majority of the night searching for them.

General Banter / Courses in Estes Park?

Going to Estes Park, CO over Labor Day weekend.  Anyone know of a good course to play while out there?

Beginners / Straighter End Flight
« on: August 12, 2009, 03:34:49 PM »
Been playing for a while and am now finally trying to become more serious about playing.  I've gotten some help with general throwing, but now I'm struggling with accuracy.  I throw RHBH, and my disc fades hard to the left at the end of the flight.  Besides the natural flow of the disc how can I keep this down to a minimum to increase the distance of drives and up shots?

Also, does KCFDC offer any types of clinics or would anyone be willing to "coach" or give lessons?

Currently I'm throwing mid to upper 60's at WW, P-Hill and Swope and upper 70's lately at the longer Rosedale (that course doesn't agree with me much)

Thanks in advance for feedback.
