General Banter / Mums the word
« on: April 27, 2016, 03:15:15 AM »
A friend just bought a 40 acre retreat and wants me to help design a "world class" course, if the land would accomodate it.  I can't say anything about it, for now.  We will walk the land in May.  He is doing other things out there first, so I expect this to be a long process.  The Google map looks intriguing, to say the least.  Lots of elevation changes, several potential water holes, including ponds and a stream.
It also could be a place I could retire to in a few years, and walk out my front door and tee off!

What is everybody's favorite: putter, midrange and driver?  Weights?

As one drives up the big hill on Mission Road to get to Rosedale Park, that steep slope on the right side is just covered with litter.  Part of the Down Under and Hole 18 on the upper course is right above all this trash.  I would imagine that the majority of this garbage is thrown out of vehicles, but is it possible to call for a work day for us to clean this mess up, perhaps with the help of the city???  It's kind of a bad reflection on SOMEBODY.

General Banter / As some of you know, my CD is finally DONE! YAY!

Sample tune:

All original tunes.  I sing, play bass and harmonica, wrote and produced the entire CD.  I got fortunate and got a truly great saxophonist, Ernest Melton, on it.  12 tunes, now all over the internet, including Amazon and iTunes.

Thanks for listening!

I've also been playing more golf this past year, regaining strength from my illness.  It's a battle, but disc golf is great exercise, and I hope to play some league events this coming year.

I've been practicing this year at SMP.  Slowly getting my wind back.  Lungs shut down about four years ago, couldn't breathe hardly at all.
With my wind back somewhat I finally completed my CD.  It's now all over the web.  You can listen to all 12 tunes on Youtube.  Search there for "fisherman bob Church of the Blues"
I'm also on itunes, same search.
Maybe I'll play some doubles this Fall...

Innova, Discraft, etc. some rare collectibles as well, all in excellent condition.Call me if interested. 9139403020.  Christmas is right around the corner.

Lake Lottawanna, T-Bones on Colbern Rd. Just east of Hwy 7 THIS Saturday, 7 to 11pm.  Nice small venue, great food from what I hear.  We're playing Lion's Den again this year, but this Saturday we've got a few great players filling in.  Terry Stanley on drums and Ernest Melton Hot on saxophone.  The latter will be WORLD famous, perhaps soon.  Hope to see some of you Missouri golfers there...

Thought we had someone to work the door at our next gig 6/29, but he can't make it.  So if anybody can help us collect at the door this coming Saturday 6/29, starting about 7pm to about 10pm I'd sure appreciate it.  We'd make sure you're properly hydrated with the libation of your choice and you get to hear a great all original blues and rock band for free.
