Moving COF to Sunday would be fine since nothing has really been printed up on it yet. I don't really think it would affect turnout.

This is wonderful news!!! It's great to see community organizations such as this one get into disc golf....However, that is the same day as the City of Fountains Tournament. And the COF is a PDGA "C-tier" event...for which I am hoping a good turnout.

Kevin - Did they just decide on that date recently or has it been set for a while??? Do you know? If there is a way that we could get Ozanam to push it to Sunday the 21st or even the following Saturday, I think it would be more beneficial for both events if they weren't on the same day (as far as turnout for both). Do you know who is in charge of running this event for Ozanam?

His obituary was in the KC Star today. Here is the info on his memorial service and wake.

Charlie Bauersfeld, age 62, Lenexa, KS died June 29, 2008 at KU Medical Center. Survivors include Wife, Becky Bauersfeld of the home, sister-in-law, Brenda Chael and husband Ted of Lenexa. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Covenant Chapel, 135th and Roe, Leawood, KS. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2nd at the same location. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans. Online condolences may be expressed at www.amosfamily.com. (arr. The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, 913- 631-5566).

Rosedale / New Pin Settings (and Bridges)

The new bridges on holes #2 & #18 are awesome! Thanks for all the work!

Really like the new pin placements that you guys put in. Hole #8 up top especially! A little higher than normal but very cool. Was this a Cashen innovation?

Also the new settings on holes #8 & #12 down under will add some challenge to the course. I had an easy birdie on #8, but that is a tight little window off the tee - good risk/reward. Hole 12 was a different story, as the "V" in front of the basket knocked me twice - had to take a bogey.

Cliff Drive / Cliff Drive - After Dark

Well, I am the course coordinator and I wouldn't necessarily play a round of glow there by myself, but I wouldn't be too concerned if I were playing with a group of people there. Sounds like you will be alone though. Since you will only be playing a couple of holes right after dark I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It is a great course, and I recommend you check it out. If you are concerned about being out there alone, I only live a few blocks from the course and would be willing to meet you out there and play a round together. Having a guide on a new course might help you cut a couple of strokes off your round.

Tournaments / City of Fountains Classic

This event will be held on Saturday, July 16th. It is a PDGA C-tier event. One round at Cliff Drive and one round at Blue Valley.  Make sure to bring your extra throwing arm

Cliff Drive / Upcoming work days at Cliff Drive

Yes, Mike is correct. The first of several workdays is scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 26th. The other two on the schedule so far are on March 26th, and April 16th.

As far as 02/26/05 goes, I will be at the park around 8:30am - 8:45am to get things kicked off. Our agenda will be to focus on the steps on holes #7 and #8, moving brush already cut on holes #12 and #14 to the edge of the road, moving brush cut on hole #8 to the road by #9 teepad, as well as general trash clean-up. We will be meeting by the teepad for hole #8 (along cliff drive). I am hoping to have at least 2 chainsaws there as well as some other tools, however any tools that you folks can bring would be appreciated as well. Soda, beer, and food will be provided for those that attend.

As far as renting a chain saw...We should have enough powered cutting tools there for the first work day. We'll play it by ear for the others.
