Wrong. Travis Trober or Jamie Danger have been running it in Utz's absence. 6 bucks. 5 to payout and 1 to ace fund.

For new players and veterans, this is a fundraiser for a food bank, so buy mulligans and merchandise. All proceeds go to the charity. I can tell you from experience it is a great feeling to hand over a check for 8,000 bucks while representing KC disc golf and our community. Ice Bowl. No Wimps. No Whiners.

A million thanks to all involved and the instigator in chief.

That Farm to Market Bread makes those sub sandwiches amazing!

Word! That's a huge donation from an awesome local company. Can I just say what a well run event this was. We played 2 rounds of 21, not easy btw, had a ring-of-fire like no other, and had lunch and drinks, yet the event was over before 4:00. This can only happen with the right people and this event has that. From sponsors to volunteers to players, you guys made this exceptional. Many people said "this is the one event I don't miss." That speaks volumes to this club.

Man I was tired Monday morning.  :)

This is a note of awesome sauce for G.I. Dave (why do we call him that? This MoFo is a Marine!)

Dave took up the reigns for this last year and has since brought his style to the event. I am so pumped to throw this course tomorrow. I am stoked to win stuff/or not. I'm always happy to see the folks who make it year after year.  I 'm elated I don't have to go get lunch or drinks, and there are lots of sponsors to boot.

My point is Dave took took it and ran. Big props. See you lucky folks tomorrow.

Who's next?

This is where I got the idea for the stats; mode, median, and average.

Also the memes at the bottom are pretty good.

I am so pumped to play this! Dave is not messing around here folks. When he told me the course will be Hard this year (capital H), oh snap. At least, Travis Trober won't get three aces again. I am pumped for the funnest event of the year.

As part of increasing the chances of getting an ace race ace, we have asked for particpants to bring extra baskets so that they can be stacked or placed next to the existing targets. If you have a basket to bring and are playing, please bring it the morning of and we can make arrangements to get it back to you.

If you are not playing and can loan a basket for the day, please contact me and we can make arrangements.

Ace Race 2016
August 21st Swope Park

It's back again folks. According to Ace Race HQ,, this year's event will have an ever larger player pack and a new price of 30 USD. Player pack will include two prototype discs, a mini, a towel, and a shirt. Not a bad deal. If you have never played this event, it is a flex start from 9-4 Sunday August 21st at Swope Park. We set up a short fun course with new shots and more baskets to hit. The goal is to get aces or metal hits as outlined by Ace Race rules. This is a FUN event, not a tournament at all. You get one throw and then move on. It's blast.

More info to come. I'll get flyers out over the next two weeks and pre-reg is available here

There will be music, raffles, a beer sponsor, and a 5 USD side bet for the ace fund, payable day of only. All aces day of evenly split the ace fund. It's pretty freakin awesome.

We'll see you there.

Swope / Swope League 6-21-16
« on: June 20, 2016, 09:43:15 PM »
I am running Swope league this week, and I have just heard Old Pike is cancelled so folks who knew Todd can come and play a round in memory. Swope was where I saw him the most, and Down Under league. Anyway, if you know some of old folks who might want to come out and show their respects and throw a round, please let them know. Sign up by 5:50 and tee at 6:00.

I have decided not to run this event this year due to my poor planning in the schedule. Luckily though for those interested in throwing the old stuff you can July 3rd at Rosedale. I think the restriction there is 90's plastic.

I will however plan for next year. Thanks
