Therefore I believe that the plan that Joe is working on aligns with the demands of attention the women seek in this event.

Thank you, that sums up my whole argument. I guess I should have started with that. The women are acting like a special interest
group and demanding they get what they want. Sounds like BLM. Oh, crap, did I just start a whole new thing.

Dang you to lovebirds still going at it.   :D.  Come on kiss and make up.   :-*   and before you start i am trying to be helpful.    ;D
Nah, I've seen enough. I know that any argument with him is going nowhere, because he's arguing in bad faith, so I'm just not going to engage anymore.
Dag nabit, here I am all puckered up with nobody to make up with.

It started by somebody shooting off a rocket.  We saw them shoot off the rocket then a few minutes later we saw the fire about where it had landed.

There's a few people who like to talk sh1t on the forum, but every experience I've had in KC disc golf with real people face-to-face has been a positive one. (Well, minus one time, but that was someone who sh1t-talks me on the forum too, so go figure.)

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.  I guess you weren't talking sh1t on the forum when you said "%$#@ you, pal". I have never
talked on the forum like that.  I'm also quite certain you won't take any opportunity to consider that maybe it is you that starts half of the sh1t.

Since you are keeping a paper trail I want to go on the record stating it wasn't me that Nova had a negative experience with face-to-face.

I'm not insulted Joe. I simply believe that you were being rude and not helpful. We were responding to a request for us to express our interest. Somehow, that turned into you making personal attacks. I hope you have a nice day. It's my birthday weekend and as a famous singer once said, can't nobody break my stride.
I'm sorry if I wasn't being helpful. But, you are incorrect, I did not start any personal attacks. I very simply asked 2 questions and Nova didn't like
it and went off on me. Then you added to it and made a comment about me also. Nova has a paper trail of how the whole thing went. I'm glad
that nobody broke your stride and I hope you have a excellent birthday weekend.

Joe H., thank you very much for answering my question. I will spend much time trying to get better. I will even be at a Wyco challenge, but, even if
I won a spot I would not take it because I think there are MANY more people that could help the great state of Kansas to a victory.

That's not an apology, that's an accusation that starts with the words "I'm sorry." I'm not insulted easily, but I am offended when someone is deliberately rude to me, and then doubles down on it. The correct response to this is, by the way, anger. And I am angry at you, because you've behaved abhorrently and rudely, and insulted me to my (forum) face.

%$#@ you, pal.

Of course it wasn't an apology, you're not very quick.

And as for this, %$#@ you, pal. Nope, you are not my type. :) :) Come on, that's funny.

I want to summarize some thoughts that have been shared this morning and start a discussion:

For a tournament that is designed to showcase KC's "best of the best," it's important that women earn a place (by defeating other women), and not get there by default." Having a qualifier/qualifiers is totally reasonable. But 3-5 women is a decent showing, even for a large local tournament, and that's from the metro as a whole. Setting a requirement of six women from each state feels like we're being set up to fail. From the most recent PDGA demographics report, the membership was 92% male, 8% female. Using the teams of 16 men as a starting point, that means that adding just one woman to each team, and a qualifying event of 2-3 women would be more likely to succeed, particularly in the shadow of last year's drama (that last fragment is completely my (Amy's) opinion).

Perhaps a better starting place would be 3-4 women minimum (per state) competing for 1-2 spots on each side, with 1 getting the alternate spot. This would convey a sincere interest in opening the event to women, and therefore are encouraging more women to try and qualify.

Lastly, I would remind anyone reading this that I said my intent is to "start a discussion," not to demand rule changes.

Amy asked for my argument in favor of my point number 1, so here it is. You can take your whole statement from above and insert men over 60(or any other special interest group) in the place of women and have the same argument. As a 60 year old man it is just as hard to compete against the best-of the-best as it is for women. That applies to almost any other special interest group.  So when you start to allow that then you truly don't have the best-of the-best you have a participation event. If it's a participation event then include everyone. Amy, I wish to thank you, your statement and thoughts were very well said and stated in a nice thoughtful manner.

This is not helping at all. This is deliberately stirring the pot, and point number two is a blatant insult.

It's pretty obvious I wasn't trying to help. It's pretty obvious I was trying to stir the pot. I'm sorry that
you and Crispian are insulted so easily, maybe you shouldn't read forums. Now why don't you let somebody
answer my questions.

I have a couple of questions.

1. If you are making allowances for certain groups can you include and make special allowances for age protected over 60.

2. Does everyone get a participation trophy.

Thanks,

Since I have never been part of a Performance Flight tournament can you answer some stupid questions I have. How many rounds will be played.
Will there be one round friday, saturday, and sunday.  Will these rounds be flighted by how well you did against your par. What courses will be used
for these rounds, any idea yet. Thanks in advance for answering these questions nicely and not treating me like I'm stupid.

So now once again back to the awesomeness of the event.

Jack/Dick, can you create a one person division for me, that way I can finally win something and you can give me a trophy. Thanks, let
me know when I can sign up for that.  :)

Don't get me wrong, not trying to be "that guy", and I don't see it changing anytime soon as well.  It seriously needs to be looked in to going forward though.  Especially when looking to make payouts better for the actual "Pro's".

Oh I'm sorry, I must of mis-understood. I thought Rob wanted people's thoughts on what kind of tournaments they liked. But if he is looking to make payouts better for the actual "Pro's" that changes everything. Maybe if we can get their addresses we can just send them a check. Save time on all that pesky having tournaments and such.

I have a better suggestion. No more payouts for Ams. Sorry not sorry, I know it isn't a popular opinion but we are one of the few if not only Am sporting events with a payout.
I have a better, better suggestion. Don't let Dick decide your business model. Keep on doing exactly what you have been doing, changing things up and seeing what
people like and what works for you.
