Juniors Disc Golf / Planning - Basehor Middle School Kids/Dads Event
« on: July 09, 2017, 02:19:50 PM »
One of my buddies who I introduced to the sport a couple years ago is interested in holding an even to introduce other fathers and their kids to the sport at the 9-hole Basehor Middle School course in September.  Would anyone be willing to offer advise on organizing and executing an event like this.

Pete, thanks for helping make this happen. I learned that 30 minutes of live clinic time can help my game more than watching hours of tournament coverage online.

Sorry for bringing up such an old post.  Does anyone have an update on this course?  I noticed that the park expansion has begun and the new walking trails are already in.  Any idea when the tee pads and baskets will be going in?

There's a causal chain of events for everything.  Sarah's 2nd place finish can't be blamed on just one pre-tournament  event.  We're assuming she would have played with the same skill and fervor car accident or not and that she would have pared those first two holes.

Also, if it were that big of a deal to the rest of the women's field, why shouldn't they all have agreed to collect extra strokes that round?  It's because they wouldn't know weather to collect 6,7,8,9,10 extra strokes because nobody knows what Sarah would have thrown those first two holes.

Paige shouldn't feel like Sarah should have won.

Came here to say the course looks great.  I played out there on the full 18 for the first time last weekend.   I was so glad to see benches no longer anchored to the back of our teepads.

Went off to the right 4/5 of the way to the basket.  Searched the hillside for 20 minutes with no luck.

What were the scores?  I'd like to know where I'd fall in if I chose to play on Fridays.

Pull up the sign and move it a few feet back so you can retrieve the disc.

There was someone taking pictures during the first round Sunday.  Does anybody know if they will be shared online?

Courtesy Rule 801.04.B

Players should watch the other members of their group throw in order to aid in locating errant throws and to ensure compliance with the rules.

Except when putting player is wearing bag or within 10 feet of the basket?  These were all taken from the final round of the GBO.

I stayed in Colo. Springs for a week last summer and played Cottonwood Creek every day. It's a challenging course with a mix of long and short holes all packed in a small area in a very busy park (Walkers, Joggers and Bikers.)

I couldn't believe how dangerous it was. The RHBH line on a couple holes is right over the walking path, to hyzer back in bounds again. There are so many walkers and bikers, I had to wait a minute or two on a few occasions.  The week I was there, course gossip was about how someone hit a baby carriage being pushed along the walking path.

Also, hole 4 is a wide open shot that has a good chance of landing next to hole 1 where there may be people putting. I remember there being other areas where you're throwing toward other golfers as well.

It's fun, but be careful.

I'll be there around 5:00.  Looks like a good time.

This was finally returned to me.  Lost on hole 2, someone found it on hole 15.  How does that happen?
