Tournaments / Re: Question on Manufacturer special events

The Ace Race is here every year.  That is a Discraft event.  I don't know if enough people throw MVP to have the MVP event.

You have been misinformed. And thanks to Nate Zier we have current agreements with PHill and Liberty. KCMO is on a three year cycle and will be renewed in September. BTW, we pay a percentage of all income recvd on KCMO courses annually. Thanks to mostly Jack the KCFDC has a pretty good relationship with KCMO P&R.

Great job Nate!

I'm thinking about signing up and only wearing a bikini and shoes.  Even Jack will tell you, you cant play in a tournament without shoes.

That's great Jack, I get why you picked those colors, but I don't think green is a way to go.  Think about all the sleeves that were painted red that have been hit by something.  Now you want to paint one green and have it blend in with the grass.  Red should always be the shortest and then extra colors added between blue and black/gold, IMO.

Hole 14, I think, the hole with the big bush to the left that obscures the bike trail.

A couple warning signs.  One by the tee pad, post spotter.  One up the trail, beware of disc flying at high rates of speed that will knock you off your bike.

I wish I could come...I'll be in Wichita at a 90th bday party :)

You don't look a day over 25.

I have heard of two other young Divas possibly playing.  There is a 16 and under division.  The ladies have done a great job selecting what divisions to offer.

I would like to hear from someone on the board.  They haven’t really said anything about this.  How was this decision made?  Before you say it isn't set in stone, Rob is pretty adamant that this has already been approved.  There has been a PDGA league on Monday nights for as long as there has been a PDGA league.  Sorry Jack but it isn’t just Cliff.  That was the Northeast league that also included Blue Valley.  How will it work when it comes time to have it on the busiest course in town, Rosedale, when there is already a free, instructional ladies league?  They probably aren’t going to pay to play in the PDGA league.  I do see that Beginners league has been removed.  Was that how you propose to alleviate congestion or are you still looking for a director for that?  WOW! that would be three KCFDC leagues happening at the same park at the same time.  Please enlighten us.

Water Works / Re: Course Issues

that's 2 years in a row someone has slammed into the bench on 18, maybe we could move it a little farther from the road to keep that from happening every time someone decides to go GTA through waterworks
...or plant a large boulder or 3 to dissuade any more property damage whether intentional or not.
If they hit the boulder(s), then they'll of course have their own problems = property damage to deal with.  Too bad!   ;D :-X

Great idea, but the city might believe it is better off financially to replace a bench than to purchase boulders.  That's government.  They have a hard time looking long term when they are there for a short term.
The city wont mark trees for removal.  That is admitting there is a problem with the tree.  if the tree comes down on it's own and some one gets hurt the city is liable.  that is info from a P&R superintendent.  Is it the same reason they wont put a barrier there?

No one has keys, and the tee sign question is great.  I asked it a few times in the last year.  I guess the answer is no.

Liz could also play advanced women.  It's the same cost.  You would be in the same pool.  She would get a lot more playing against those women, if any sign up.

Is it because you want to ride to the course together?  There will be tee times, so Liz may tee off at 8 a.m. and you could tee off, same course, at 2 p.m.  That makes for a long day.

How about you just post what you've found, if you really feel like giving them back. This is so I know not to waste time/get my hopes up playing the slow, torturous, and thread inflating game of " Try and guess what disc of mine you've found -- Since i've been playing for years and have lost numerous discs, many of which have been found by noobs and probably tossed into the PC/Young/etc ponds"

Come on Greg, you said you have been playing for years so you should know; Innova only made one orange champion Valkyrie.  If you guess it, it must be yours.  You should also know if you lost a disc at Waterworks that is where it will be found and returned to you.  Discs never get taken and lost at other courses.

Sunset is actually at 4:33.  Then there is the time that the sun is below the horizon but still casting light above the horizon.  A phenomenon called twilight.   ;)

KCFDC & DG Nomad monthly glow at P HILL

Could you make it a little warmer next time, please.

OK Doug, just because you asked.
The forecasted temperature for Saturday the 22nd is 59.  Sunset is at 4:30 so lets get this kicked off around 6:00.  We can get registration started at 5:00.  It is going to be a great night at Lakeshore.

There have been some rumors of people camping at the park this weekend.

Matt Dixon is doing a glow round there Friday night as well.
