Paige peeled a blister off her throwing hand and hasn't recovered since. Phil Arthor withdrew for personal family reasons after having a bad round. Sounds Philthy! Got to watch the Champ today battle it out with Barry just like old times. Yeti hanging in there with his bum knee. Sarah Hokum told me at the Glass Blown that she didn't want to play the KCWO this year because it was too many rounds. Looks like that's playing in her advantage at Worlds so far.

Just got the PDGA discgolfer magazine and it has a picture of Feldberg playing in the final 9 at Swope with some guys (Henry Poe, Jay Revard, ??) from KC in the background.

I' m confused? Since this is the 1st Annual does that mean the inaugural event was last year? Is there going to be more than one Men's Open division?

Great tournament overall..a little unseasonably warm, but no rain!
I would have liked to finish at Waterworks, there's just little relief from the heat at Cliff. I know we would have had a problem with all the casual players out at Waterworks in the afternoon since they had no warning about the course being closed.
I also like the 10am start and the 1 1/2 hour lunch although if we had a rain delay it might have been tough getting finished before dark.

Ahh... a/c if it keeps the wife happy it must be a good thing. I just bought one of those little cans of freon for my car and it was $15! Looks like a/c is getting to be one of those entitlements only for the rich again, or those with connections. I grew up in KC and we didn't have a/c at home tell I was in my late teens about the time good old mom & dad kicked me out. lol

Is DD going to put the registration list on the PDGA site?
Last year this tournament didn't fill, but it has in years past. I think a few people who registered early last year might be a little more cautious.  One of the reasons this tourney would fill quickly is because it was part of the oz tour which would get a lot players from Kansas to play. Getting upgraded to B tier will help bring in some good players with the extra added cash. This year we have a tournament the next day at Rosedale which might draw more players from out of town.  It's great having more PDGA tournaments in KC this year thanks to DD, I just wish I could play them all. I am going to wait to register for now because I don't know who's playing and what the weather is going to do.

This sounds fun, except being a 2 day competition. There also needs to be some incentive to win like some type of pay out with donated prizes or a party for the winners.

Thanks Tom & company for improving 13. I can't wait to see it. The closest I have come to getting to play a round was when my 2 2yr old's skipped their nap and came down stairs with CDs in their hands (which was from the music collection I have for them to sleep with) saying "were ready to play disc golf".

That is part of the reason why it is good to play in a group of better individuals, it does help you learn from better players which will generally improve your own game!

You should always play in the pro 1 division at minis if you are wanting to improve your game. Seven bucks is cheep for a 2 1/2 hour lesson.  :)

I'll work on a plan to get a key from Dirk and get it working.

As for the shortness, its a family friendly park, and I personally see absolutely nothing wrong with leaving it short even in the longer daylight months.

With the abundance of coruses in town, it is absolutely disc golf suicide to have all courses long, it will never turn a new player into wanting to play more if they can't feel that satisfaction of completion.

I never said all long, there should be a good mix of short and long holes so its a challenge for any level of play. I guess the days of strategically trying to place a golf shot so you feel the satisfaction of getting a three or four are gone in KC. Even the par three ball golf courses have a few par 4 & 5s mixed in.

The new pin placements out there are way to lame. I know there are a lot of beginners out there, but why set it mostly short for summer when you have more playing time (daylight)? I have been out there twice and don't feel a need to go back tell there is a good mix in the placements. I was still trying to figure out how to deuce some of those original placements.

There is also construction on 87th street and you can't access Renner, so I found the best way for us southerners is to take 435 to Midland and back track up Renner.

Starting sometime this month Olathe Parks will have silver trash cans to help disc golfers recycle plastic bottles and cans. Now we can not only claim to have the park with the most fun, but also we can also feel a little better about doing our part to save the planet from global warming. Then again we like global warming, so just make sure you drive your smog producer a long distance to get there.

Who actually takes the time to count chains on a basket.....really.....

This is exactly what the thief might have thought and it was almost the perfect crime tell my puts started falling out last summer. Of course it wasn't my fault my perfectly executed puts weren't staying in. I have been robbed numerous times by basket 4, & 17 and I not going to take it anymore. I not only want these baskets fixed I want to be reimbursed for all my lost winnings; I want this chain robber to hang. Basket 4 chains were left equally spaced. What kind of kid does that? Some kids took the chains off of a Cliff Drive basket and hung them in a tree. What would a kid do with these chains and how would they even reach them? I think we would have found some of them lying around.
