Rosedale / Trimming up @ Rosedale?
« on: July 23, 2014, 11:14:43 AM »
Would anyone care to trim up some of the greens at Rosedale this weekend?

#1
#10
#16

Those are the ones that probably need the most attention.  Some loppers and gloves, and we would be good to go from about 9 to 12.

Is there any interest here?

I agree on doing some trimming around those longer placements (#1, #10, and #16 in particular).  Would anyone like to come cut some honeysuckle this weekend.  Saturday morning perhaps?

Van, you may have a lot of out of towers that don't realize we will be teeing off at 5:45. So you may have to wait until 6 for the last card to go out.

FYI, Swope Gold will be set up (pins and rope) on June 18th.  I know you're scheduled at WyCo that day, but I just wanted to tell you as the pins will be pulled from the backside of the course Sunday.  As of right now, the only league playing there will be the standard Tuesday Swope league.

Meh.  I guess if you wanted to call them on it you could, but that seems like kind of a dick move.

That being said, Ball Golf has a much smaller margin for error than Disc Golf.  Putting in Ball Golf is exponentially harder than Disc Golf.  But it's by no means an easy sport.

Too bad he doesn't live around here.  I'd consider paying for him to play open at the KCWO since

If anyone goes out to play disc golf tomorrow, they can do something pretty regularly that the best player in the world does just as often.

Getting better involves taking tips and practicing. I'm taking a guy out to work with his driving in a field. We will throw between 100 and 150 shots probably.

You can't take those tips from clinics and not practices them outside of golf. It takes a very long time to unlearn something, like the way you throw.

I'm fine giving people advice while they play. I've been focusing a lot on foot position with people this year. But if you want to really improve your throw, you need field practice and a lot of reps.
