General Banter / PC and Birdland work fun
« on: August 22, 2017, 01:10:59 PM »
People often wonder how such a small and old fellow such as myself can throw frisbees with such force. Well, I'm going to share my secret to super human disc power.... it comes from working on the courses. Moving baskets, chain sawing, and especially mulch spreading. So, if anyone wants to experience the super fun of loading wheelbarrows with wood chips and spreading them to my stringent placement specifications, I plan on re-mulching the 13 to 14 trail at p.c and the 3 to 4 and the 4 down the hill trails at Lakeside starting Friday evening and probably working most of Saturday to finish. This is dependent on the City being able to dump the dozen or so yards I have requested by Friday. If anyone wants to get in an amazing and fun workout plus feel the pride of beautifying a couple of our favorite walk paths just message me here or show up at PC Friday eve around 4:30 at hole 14 tee with gloves, a garden rake, wheelbarrow, and shovel. Or just gloves. I promise after moving a dozen yards of chips you will see an increase off the tee of at least 25 feet!

Mainly mowers. Weather permitting I'll install long 6, long 14, and short 15. We will need to mow the rough to long 6 and 14 to make em playable and so the City can see where we want the fairways to be mowed. Yes, bring mowers.
If we can get them mowed we can play em Monday in league.

Prairie Center / 01-16-17 No GLOW
« on: January 16, 2017, 08:15:05 AM »
Although the rain may be ending and temps are comfortable, with the complete saturation of the ground I am canceling GLOW tonight. The turf has been taking a beating at P.C. and keeping our herd of GLOWERS from making a muddy mess tonight I think is the right call.

Forecast for tonight is around 60 at tee time with light winds and a near full moon (waning gibbous). Dry ground, beautiful bird land, big moon, all are good reasons to GLOW it up. Sign up by 5:45
.We draw partners at 6:00 sharp.

Tournaments / PDGA C tier in Joplin Saturday
« on: October 21, 2016, 06:17:08 AM »
A C tier is happening down in Joplin tomorrow.
Half of the $ goes to a charity that benefits veterans.
Lunch on site is included and the weather looks great. If you haven't been to McLelland park before it is a fun loop and for a good cause. A DD RV will be on site for AM payout. They mentioned rent a caddy too.

I'm not a vet ( I was however in Max Floyd's KY102 Rock and Roll Army that defeated disco), but may go check it out.
