Jack I like where you are going with this and would like to add... Move 3's tee where I intended it to be... And If you are going to hold off on the East course I suggest to continue to remove ALL the undergrowth in the area's of hole's 1-4. I'd like to see us get a machine in there.

Also needed is to disassemble the railroad ties on hole 1 and cut and use them for more stairs to get out from hole 6. Tee dressings?? Benches, trash cans........

No sense in cancelling I plan to help so that makes 4.

I seriously didnt read all the posts. My guess is the smoking ban is in place due to wildfire threats. however if the pdga adopts this for future years then they are a bigger joke then i already think they are.

you change the master age to 50 and ill never play another league, not that i play that many to begin with, but I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel to 40.....

I have received nothing of a response, so I guess people don't want to eat and talk disc golf?
You give people a one week notice, and you're surprised that there's no response.

I know that it should have been announced earlier, but we couldn't secure dates and really didn't secure these dates until about a week ago.  I wanted to wait until the note went out from Rick about the meeting before I posted anything in here.

The date should be predetermined, and it be up to the broad to ensure obligations for this "event" to occur. It should be considered as a duty of serving on the board. The board has few real obligations. You have to run leagues, club championships, and have a general meeting and elections once a year. That's it, every thing else is going above and beyond. With a club of 300 it should be a major focus to get every single one of them to the general meeting. It seems to me a lot of effort and focus goes into the Wide open every year, while energy and focus gets lost come time for a general membership meeting. The general membership meeting should be like the disc golf social event of the year.
As for the elections I certainly don't feel as though 40 people out of 300 is a good reflection for the majority of the clubs opinions. I am very serious about this issue and plan on attending the next broad meeting to address the issue.

I agree with Rick and Ben, The elections date DOES need to be announced much sooner then a week in advance. We can advertise the Wide Open months in advance. Absolutely NO reason the general meeting and elections can't be done so as well. One thing I pushed for when I was first on the board was for there to be a regular meeting date, it gives a person a chance to plan to attend a meeting if they know there's going to be one on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Anyway it kind of worked and I believe it was something later board members continued. I believe the same thing could/should be done with the general meeting/ elections. Like say officially the general meeting/elections will be held on the first Saturday in November. Life is much easier when you know what's expected.  It's the reason the United States has a presidential election ever four years on what day? Anyway it is still early and my point isn't coming across in printed form. Bottom line you don't have to be on a broad to help disc golf or a course in particular. I don't have to be told that beer can on the ground in the park is trash. You see something that needs to be done, do it. You need help speak up. And if you say you're going to do something then have some follow through.
