General Banter / Re: Disc Vending Machine
« on: November 21, 2014, 02:32:13 PM »
I know this thread is a little old but I thought I would post a quick update. We offer a small percentage of sales back to the clity/club for machines that WE pay for so no upfront costs to city or club. Jack left that part out... ; ] The reality was that we were paying more for the machines then we felt comfortable offering to anyone so thats how we built our foundation.

More importantly we are about to announce soon that we will be selling the machines outright affordably now that we are making them in bulk. Stipulations are that the brand must stay in tact and we provide cc processing and data gathering for a small cut. If anyone is interested or has any questions let me know.

I think the key is to clearly communicate the benefits of such a coop. The presentation is important, and also my specialty ; ]. Seriously, lets talk soon...

PS I'm even willing to give this process an official name and brand it for others around the country FYI. Website for TDs to sign up and get some PDGA backing on it. Think about it...

Jack I'm with ya my man! Lets figure out a coop and start having pre meetings for next year where we all embrace each others events! This will create better results for everyone with each event promoting the next and giving an opportunity to allow the players to attend all (much like the power of a back to back event). I think its a brilliant idea actually. We can really leverage some buzz stringing together multiple events. This is one of the problems with the dg event model as a whole IMO. Seriously, together we have mucho power. We can even solicit regional sponsors vs local, together and actually have some legit numbers to give them covering a larger geographical market. This allows for a much larger pool of sponsor potential. Please keep me in the loop on this and I think you should facilitate Jack? I'm more then willing to put some work into this idea. Call anytime, you got my number.

Spring is here and it's time to kick off one of Omaha Nebraska's most historic disc golf events! 28 years, thousands of players, and tens of thousands of man hours have made this event a permanent mark on the calendars of countless disc golfers across the midwest. As always The Fling will be held at a temporary course hand picking the best land Omaha has to offer. In the next few weeks our team will be aggressively pursuing more added cash and unique items for am player packs. So far we have $1500 added. Stay tuned for regular updates.

Pre-Register Here:
On-Location Registration: 8am - 9:15am
Players Meeting: 9:15am
Tee Time: 9:30am

In coop with the OMDGA and Discs Unlimited, TeeBoxx Disc Sports will be giving away a super cool T-shirt to all and any volunteers that are willing to help on the event. That doesn't mean you can't play, but great events are run by great people and we need your help to pull it off. Course design by Hefty Lefty & Jeremy Michael Pettis.

Albert Lea Tribune did a full spread on our tournament this last weekend, and the PDGA used it in their weekly update. Not bad for only half a field. You guys missed out on some fat payouts and awesome golf. Maybe next year.

Ya well we did our best to work with Lomoni but "they" didn't want to budge. We've been doing the fling for a LONG time 3rd week of April. So we decided to stick to our guns. Hopefully it doesn't hurt us too bad on attendance, but the fling has filled up for 8 years running. Sadly it's Omaha's - Nebraskas - biggest tournament...

Please feel free to post any critiques I'm curious to hear anyone and everyones honest opinion. Yes there was some experimentation on the course so thanks for baring with me on a few things including improper OB lines in a few places. I learned a ton from everyone that played. The course is definitely going in permanent and it's already fully funded by the Omaha Parks & Rec. Which includes 2 tees per hole that will be 14' circles, tee signs and benches. Next year I intend to have a 2 day event with Hummel and Levi in the line up. Maybe A tier, hopefully... Thanks to all that made it out!

I know hopefully the 29 opens up by then. Either way I'll know your intentions are good. : ] OH BTW if you do come down with the 29 closed come through on the 75 south. It's much quicker then going to Des Moines
