Tournaments / Not so random birthday doublez results
« on: March 16, 2015, 01:46:51 pm »
If 4 tourneys in one town on one weekend weren't enough there happened to be 5th that materialized yesterday on a fabulous day at water works park. The Not Quite Annual Not So Random Killa-Ho Dubs. Just a little birthday round for ides of march bday buddies team Killa-Ho; myself and the man the moustache ed Holbrook. We ended up with 21 players who enjoyed a great day of good friends a great lunch grilled up by chef GI Dave and good times had by all.

Special tourney rules were in effect. All rules and pairings decided by killian and holbrook. Sobriety discouraged. Drunkest person can't keep score (called the killian rule). If you got it share it. Maybe some more i forgot.

Bird Father Andy Lewis and Sweet Will Mersman took home the win and the fat pool of 23 ones. Yeah that's right folks 10 % added cash. Lots of laughs and maniacal cackling were heard around the course for several hours. Some pretty good shots were thrown here and there as well. Shot of the day wasn't really a shot but had both cards rolling. Andy is standing by 9's tee box swinging a big ass stick while we were teeing of on 8. You could tell he was just begging for us too send one at him. Steve c. Was last guy on the card and happily obliged him. Turned one over right at the tee box and Andy creamed that buzz like it was slow pitch softball. Probably a little flippier now but we were laughing all the way down the hill.

Thanks to everyone that came and brought something. We had a ton of food that was so good nobody needed any ketchup or mustard or mayo. We had a great time and hope everyone did as well.

A Friday evening alternate shot would be fun with some kind of players party after would be even better. Some good team building and fun would go towards making it an even more sought after event. It is not easy to get into and shouldn't be. I didn't qualify 2 years ago and was bummed, made me really motivated to make it last year even though I had to squeak into one of the last spots.

Hoping the potential for another easy no travel lunch will give me an inside track on a captains pick if I continue playing at my uber chump level this year.

Correct, I didn't play my best because I had somewhere else I was suppose to be and it was not at the East/West Challenge.  I made arrangements to be there, but it didn't work very well for me.  I was there, but not there if you know what I mean. And if you don't understand, then you don't have kids and other responsibilities and you need to grow up.

We understand Eric. Knew there was something not right because you got beat by a CHUMP!!  ;D

I'm bringing a little food. Got some hot dogs and buns and some chips. Probably enough for like 10 peeps. Already crested 108 holes for the 3 day weekend, but I think I got a little more in the tank.

I say if kicking the bejezus out of that dead horse is wrong then I don't want to be right. Cuz it feels good and man does the commentary make me lol. There are many ways around the am/pro classification is our great game. You wanna be a dbag than some are gonna call you a dbag.

I would have played if I could, would I have been a bagger, probably, well maybe, ah probably not. I think I would have finished one spot ahead of steve dresser. Or one spot ahead of utz, all my caddies are degenerates.

I think this is all a clever governmental type distraction to shift our focus from the real story of the tourney.

That the dude who won has over 10 grand in career earnings, including multiple pro master wins this year. Shame on him. I was feeling guilty about potentially playing (with my career $50 earnings) and i suck.

You can buy cold beer everyday and anytime from gas stations, convenience stores, etc. It's only going to be 3.2 weak sauce though.

Liquor stores are the only place you can get good beer, wine or liquor, but they cannot sell it cold. Liquor stores close at nine and are closed sunday. So if you need a nip on sunday you might as well get some natty because it's all gonna be just as weak.

Could you just put a pole in the ground and slide it over?

That would work too eric, but trying to keep it portable so I can let my bud get some practice in.

He needs it! ;D

Its an old lightning basket with their standard circular base. It has 3 supports running from the center to the outer ring. 2 of the supports are broken where it meets the outer ring. Looks like I had snapped the old welds actually. Probably just needs a couple of easy spot welds to reattach those to the outer ring.

Is it a DB5 with the removable base? If so, I have a base for it.

That's what it is Kevin. What are you wanting for it?

I was on that card with joe and all those guys finished. I'm not sure how my score got turned in too with cd's. I was in no shape to keep score so they wisely did not let me have anything to do with the scorecard. I'm not sure if I actually shot a 26, but that would be pretty good considering the fantastic bartender seemed to think I was one of his most frequent visitors. He makes a great stout to boot.

On the beer, I do think it adds a bit of a draw having "free beer" at the event. I may not have donated the proper amount for all the beer I drank, and I did drink a healthy share, but after all the mulligans, entry fee, chili, side games and such I was in pretty deep. If it gets more people out and involved anything else on top of that is just a bonus.
