So that makes 4 players (Jay, Jordan, Matt, and Vince) .  Any others?

I might be able to make this...

Awesome, I'm setting up baskets for extra holes by the dam that Narin has been working on. Should be fun.

I should probably explain myself a little more concerning the "who cares" comment.  What I meant was, who cares if they choose to play in a lower division.  My last statement "what breeds winning?  more winning!" was meant to say that allowing new players to have success and win (in intermediate or novice or rec or jr) will motivate them and give them confidence to continue and grow as a competitor and be a winner.  I'm not saying I recommend eliminating divisions, I'm saying that I agree with Utz that if you only had one AM division then this issue of people getting called bagger and alienating them would end.

I agree with Utz.  One AM division and maybe a rec division for new players would solve this problem.  I played in the Afternoon D-Lite a few years ago and the divisions were Pro-1, Pro-2, Advanced, Intermediate, Masters, Rec, Jrs, and Women.  At the time, I had only played in 2 tournaments as Intermediate and was ready to move up to Advanced.  So that's what I played, but I should have played Pro-2 since it was unsanctioned and there many more players in that division. Plus, I would have finished 2nd in Pro-2 and won more.  Back then, I didn't know the difference between sanctioned or unsanctioned or why it mattered.  I think part of the issue with this and similar tournaments is that several normally Advanced level players (in PDGA sanctioned events) moved up to play Open since it was un-sanctioned.  Also, I think the number of players in each division can influence it, especially if someone is borderline Intermediate to Advanced to player.  Or it could be a group of guys of similar level all want to play and compete together in the same division.  But really who cares?

Do you know what breeds winning? More winning!

I actually have this Friday off and can make it.   There are 7 holes just off #13.  And I can bring some baskets for some of the holes that are cut in off the dam.  Might be 3-5 more holes depending on how it's layed out and played.

It looks like traveling Friday league is going to be there this Friday.  And if you want someone to give you a tour of the new holes any other time, just give me a shout.

It was good.  Couple of cool holes over the water.  Neither were excessively long but with the wind required a pretty good carry maybe 330 ft, but there was a bailout area on the left.  The other was shorter, less than 300, but straight into a pretty stiff north wind.  We also played three fun new holes south of the dam.  We had a small turnout, 7, so only one group and that takes longer to play.  Steeler Doug wore shorts.  Because you know, he's a man's man.  Personally, as that cold north wind picked up, I was chilled to the bone.  FYI, there's talk of a tournament there in a few months.  More to come.

Dec 22 is my birthday and I would like to do some golfing that day and I was considering organizing something on that Saturday.  Sorry, I can't on Sunday Dec 23.  I have a family dinner which I might get disowned if I missed.  I hate to pull from Rosie DU league, so I can either play the shortest course in KC or the longest, decision, decisions.  My other thoughts is to do something at Swope as it is currently the closest to my house.

Critiques please?

You need to shave, lose a little weight, and most importantly you are throwing with the wrong hand.

I serve on my city's parks and rec board and can you tell you that p&r departments will continue to put in courses that are free to play. However, the sort of discussions we have around disc golf  courses "is do we have the support within the community for disc golf?".  Simply put more players/more mainstream it becomes, the more support disc golf will receive, giving way to more courses and more options.

If you have keys to the baskets, please let me know here.

Narin does.  Talk to him.
