Lakeside Hills / Course Record Set
« on: August 05, 2013, 09:32:37 PM »
Ken da Tank Franks sets the new Birdland record of 50 with a couple bogeys sprinkled in.

My prediction for hot round at OSO is a 47...with 45 being busted once the short pins are involved.

Course is getting easy with pads I guess......   ;)

Prairie Center / PC Neglect
« on: July 23, 2013, 06:45:46 AM »
PC was so riddled with trash last night it was very sad.  We have been spending all of our free time at Lakeside getting that course in tourney shape and seems like nobody has picked up the slack at PC.  Where is the KS pride?  Where are the KS homies that spend time on the course for work and not just play all the time?

The tee signs are in bad shape....Hole 2 the sign was completely ripped up and glass missing....several have missing top pieces.

Come on West side....can we get a little friendly help on the trash pick-up at least???

Seems vandals have also swiped the trash can from hole 2 & 15...also the bench from 2 was missing and the one on hole 12 has back rests missing.

WYCO / How's the grass?

Please remember to keep piles of limbs to the side of fairways and easy for a truck to get to for removal.  Also PLEASE DO NOT cut anything that is larger than 1/2" in diameter...PLEASE!!  This is a city and course designers request.

Lakeside Hills / Birdland Workday 7-16-13
« on: July 16, 2013, 08:37:51 PM »
All tee boxes have at least 1 large rock for use, thank you City of Olathe!

- All distances measured with the club's range finder.
- Hole 2 - Tee Box area cut and fairway lift
- Hole 3 - Tee Box area cut and dead limb out of fairway tree (partially)
- Hole 4 - Tee Box area cut and fairway lift
- Hole 5 - Tee Box area cut
- Hole 6 - Fairway lift
- Hole 10 - Fairway lift
- Hole 17 - Fairway lift
- Hole 18 - Fairway lift

Anyone with free time can take a weedeater out there and have a hay day or drag all dead limbs to one general location that is easy to get to for a city vehicle.  Especially holes 4,10 & 11.
Most of the trimming was with a pair of hand clippers and a pole saw...very little with chainsaw. The need for more trash cans was identified.  2 snakes were observed.
