Any possible way we could get something going before the 2006 leagues start this spring???

Swope / League Ace Fund

Anyone know what the Ace fund was at for the final league night of 2005?  From the records I have, it looks like it was at about $120.  If anyone has sheets or records that show this different please get with me before or at the next meeting which is in mid Feb and we'll get the numbers changed.

7 golfers put the Ace fund up to $95 and the 33 Degrees with 15-20 mph winds made for a very exciting round on the Prairie.  Snow started falling on hole 14 and was moderate/heavy for the rest of the round.

I understand having to order 250, and I don't see that being a problem.  Lights cost $2 at league and people buy those like crazy, why not offer club memebers a tag for $1 then sell them at tournaments for $5 like you said.  I bet they would be gone in a couple months...if that.

That placement which you speak of will eventually be the long placement, there is still talks going around about putting one approx. where the old 13 tee pad was or else going further west closer to the pond but still on the back side of the trees with a placement.  There are several people that like the placement it is in now, including myself.  It adds skill to your shot and the thorns are kind of your punishment for throwing a crappy shot...haha

Eventually that will all be cleaned up, but like Bob mentioned the Olathe P&R like to keep a tight hold on things out there.  I can't blame them either, not much land there and houses are growing closer and closer all the time.  When spring hits and P&R can get their big dog mowers out there I think we'll see a dramatic improvement after a couple mows.

$0.85 each???  That is dirt cheap...or is that without engraving?

If that is ready to use then that is really cheap, I'd buy 20 myself just to get the thing going, and pass them out to anyone who played league.

I think bag tags should be included in part of the club membership package....even if we have to tack on $5 more per membership or something.  That way you don't have some people with them and some without, atleast any one who paid thier dues to the club would have one.  That would also be a way of making sure too many people at leagues aren't saying they are a club member when they actually aren't, they would have a tag on thier bag to prove it....

Just an idea....but I think the bag tag idea sounds great....maybe we could get something going for new members and existing members could either purchase one now or just get it when they renew.

That is wht I was trying to avoid, I have all the league sheets from this past year and there is a ton of stuff to sift through and try to find names.  Also trying to go through all the discussion threads trying to find aces takes a ton of time.  Not to mention some of the handwriting/chicken scratching on the league sheets looks like it was done with a hammer and chisel.... :lol:

Alright all you with good memories, we are trying to compile a list of all the Aces hit for 2005.  If you hit one or more please list them here so we can publish them in the Newsletter.
If possible can you put the course, hole #, disc used, and if you want how much cash you won.

I don't think that pin covers or anything like that are necessary.  I'm just looking for a couple more bent pins to make up for the holes that do not have them, which may by 2 or could be 8???  Then a common locking system with one key, I'll be chekcing more into this the next couple days but I think $600 is way too much....might as well stick with the big "O" ring of keys if it costs that much.

Actually some of them are trailer locks and some are bent pins with master locks.  Basically a big cluster of everything....I do think there are enough bent pins to make it all 18 we would just need new locks...possibly a handful of new bent pins.

And yes it's a huge PITA when you try to change baskets, especially when some holes have up to 3 keys, one for each pin placement....

This is definately one thing that needs to be on top of the wish list.

One other thing Bob has mentioned is getting a universal locking system for all the baskets.  Basically one key and 18 locks....if anyone out there is a locksmith or knows one can we get some prices and or atleast an idea of what this will take.
