Smithville / Next Meeting November 18th, 2009

I meet with the Deputy Park Director Mike on Wednesday, Nov 18, at 10:30 am, to discuss ideas on finalizing a budget request to the County.

I will report back here the results of this meeting.

Just a reminder that this area (Camp Branch) will be closed Dec 1, 2009 to Jan 31, 2010 for a goose control issue.

Smithville / Pay to Park

Remember, we will all be subject to the Park's Pay to Park concept.

$5 per day or $40 per year. ($30 if you are a clay County resident)

1 person in the car or 99...$5.

Now that being said, remember, I plan to have a big ol stack of yearly passes and you get them by logging a few volunteer hours.

Before anybody starts slamming the idea...that's how this park get mowed on a much better schedule then any park in our system. (I think)

I would gladly make that trade...any day!!!

Hey Future Smithville Fans!!!

We now have our own section to keep up on all the Smithville action.

Stay tuned here for developements, updates and announcements!!!

I still want to do a one night campout glow mini-tourney sometime in November but hunting season is upon us and now and not sure we can get it done.

If your are interested enough though...bet we could get something worked out.

Thanks Kevin for the hook-up!!!

Water Works / I Love Waterworks in the Fall but...

...the leaves dealt us a fit today.

I have threatened to bring a 32cc leaf blower next round and BOB (back of box) has to carry the cooler, keep score and blow the leaves away on lost discs.

Group seems semi-receptive to my concept...especially after kicking 30-40 piles of leaves 'till we found the fribzees.

Rosedale / New Berm on #9

#9 has new mega-dirt berm in front of the big pine tree... Nice addition to the park.

On a sad note...all the down under t-box dirt IS the new berm.

PS- Clarification on berm location- on the other side of the pine tree...NOT the side closest to the t-box.

2 Aviars, Hole #7...both went 3/4 down then hard shanked into woods/weeds/spiderville!

One Orange Waka Aviar and one Blue Waka Aviar.

WOW...why is it the simple things are so damn effective?

Make use of discarded tires and make some of these where needed.

Cliff Drive / Cliff Freshly Mowed- played September 6

We were not sure where to play today because of all the long grass on the courses as of lately...

Tried Cliff first and it played as freshly mowed!

Everyone used to be real good on announcing the mowed courses...would be nice to get that going again gents!

Club Archives / Spotters Meeting / Spotters Shirts / Spotters Equipment

Jack mentioned at league last night something about a spotters meeting....a couple of questions come to mind.
 
1. Does anyone have final info as to when and where the meeting is? (The host hotel sometime of Sunday?)
 
2. Will the spotters be in special shirts...something the players will recognize as a spotter?
 
3. Survey flags...will they also be available at the meeting? I like to mark where the disk went out with the green ones and the lie of the player’s disc with the orange ones.

Lost at Cliff somewhere last night...

3 Button-Black Key Fob and a big ol Black & Chrome Lincoln Truck Key...

Already reprogrammed the remote and the key so if you find it...you will NOT be able to take my truck.

You will however win a $50 reward + for it's safe return.

I took the metal locator up these this am...walked everywhere I thought I went...for 3 hours...especially a couple of off course throws I shot last night.

Last time I think I saw it was on #11...it almost has to be between #11 and #18.

Flew towards the peninsula and then dropped of hard left....we looked for 30 minutes.

Never heard any thing once it went thay way...no wood noises, no street noises.

150 Yellow Valk, name and number should be on it.

Rosedale / The Quad- Bring it to Rosedale DU to help me get trash and haul it up

Well I was actually thinking it was kinda a pain in the arse to load up and bring...was thinking not bringing it unless we had a valid need...hauling trash / brush / refuse up to the top for disposal.

Your call Mike...please advise sir!

In a week or two I would like you to bring it to Rosedale DU to help me get trash and haul it up.  We will also need to add A LOT more Sand to the Tees.
